The Pokemon Company has announced the cancellation of upcoming events within the 2020 Play! Pokemon Championship Series due to increasing restrictions brought on by COVID-19. This comes following previous Pokemon event cancellations, as the company plans ahead to ensure that they are complying with guidelines laid out by the World Health Organization and other healthcare authorities. These cancellations also mean the suspension of the entire Championship Series for the time being, meaning that all other sanctioned Pokemon events are canceled until further notice....

Everyone celebrates Halloween in their own way, and for Netflix’s The Witcher, it was a time to have fun looking back on all the spooky monsters and freaks fought by Geralt in season 1. The company uploaded a fun, unassuming video featuring all the different beasts and creatures that Geralt wrestled with in the first season, all to the tune of “Monster Mash.” Curiously though, the clips featured more than just season 1 footage, with the company making it pretty clear that the careful observer would see some teases for the next chapter of Geralt’s adventures....

Apex Legends: Season 6 is just a prelude to the new Olympus map. We first got hints of Olympus as far back as Season 4. About a week ago, the release dates for Night Dive Studios’ Xbox One remasters of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and its sequel Seeds of Evil were revealed by way of listing on the official Microsoft Store. Now, the time fans have been waiting for has finally arrived, with both of the updated versions of the classic Nintendo 64-era first-person shooter titles now available for purchase on Xbox One consoles. Fire Emblem Heroes is about to get a little help from some familiar faces. The upcoming Seeds of Fodlan banner will add four new heroes to the roster, all hailing from the classrooms of Garreg Mach monastery. Familiar faces Marianne, Dedue, Ingrid, and Linhardt from the popular Fire Emblem: Three Houses will join the game on March 5. All four of the characters are coming in from the “student” era of Three Houses’ campaign....

The U.S. Army’s Twitch account seems to be in the hot seat of news lately, and now it’s been caught doing fake giveaways to its viewers as a recruitment tactic. And, surprisingly, Twitch responded to the accusations. The United States Armed Forces has esports Twitch channels where they take aim at gamers, especially those who might be in poor financial situations, in order to recruit them for service. They broke into the esports market in the last couple of months with Twitch streams with active-duty soldiers playing games such as Call of Duty: Warzone....
