Board games are a fantastic hobby to get into, and now users can get a free copy of Ticket to Ride: First Journey on Steam until April 12 by clicking here. This version of the popular board game is in fact a smaller, more simplistic adaptation from the original that is a great way to get younger kids into the overall genre of table-top gaming. Players can either play as a group, in solo mode, and there are unlockable rewards that come from playing matches....

TinyBuild has purchased the developer of its highest-rated game. DogHelm’s Matt Dabrowski has joined TinyBuild after selling DogHelm for $6.5 million. This means that the Streets of Rogue sequel will be made entirely in-house at TinyBuild. Streets of Rogue originally released back in 2019 and quickly became an indie darling. As the Steam description reads, “It’s like Nuclear Throne meets Deus Ex, mixed with the anarchy of GTA.” Players proceed through randomly generated cities by accomplishing missions using whatever they have available....

In addition to teasers and revelations about existing franchises and upcoming titles, Gamescom’s opening night is hosting several world premieres of entirely new video game franchises. And the first trailer for a new property is deeply intriguing. Developer Reflector Entertainment dropped a cinematic reveal for Unknown 9: Awakening. Very little is known about the aptly-titled game thus far. Reflector Entertainment is also a relative unknown, though its Unknown 9 “storyworld” seems to be its primary focus at the moment, weaving a narrative that will play out across multiple media platforms....

Valorant has been in a closed beta for a few weeks now, and players have been coming to grips with each of the ten characters, or Agents, in the game so far. Each Agent fits into one of four roles, all accomplishing whatever it is their role excels at in a different way. Sage is one of two Sentinels currently included in the Valorant beta. She is an excellent character and, so far, probably the character with the highest pick-rate....

Reyna hails from Mexico and fuels her abilities with aggressive play. She collects the Soul Orbs of downed enemies in VALORANT and uses them to gain extra health, faster reload speeds, and the power of intangibility. As a duelist, Reyna thrives on attacking her enemies, and once she gets momentum, she’s hard to stop. On the other hand, most of her abilities are based on her Soul Harvest passive. If she doesn’t get kills, she can’t use most of her abilities....

VALORANT, the first-person tactical shooter from Riot Games, goes into closed beta on April 7th, opening the game to the few who have been granted access. The game is character-based, featuring at least nine playable agents. Spreading paranoia throughout the VALORANT battlefield is Omen, a mysterious hunter who lurks in the shadows. Each of VALORANT’s agents have four abilities. Two are basic abilities, available to buy at the beginning of each round....

Last year’s E3 gave horror fans their first extensive look at an upcoming narrative-driven action RPG called Vampyr from Dontnod Entertainment. And now a week ahead of E3 2017, publisher Focus Home Interactive has released a new trailer that reiterates the game’s universe and story. In the new trailer for Vampyr, players see main character Jonathan E. Reid in action, using his vampiric powers and melee weapons to kill enemies in 1918 London....

Every TV series comes along with its own set of TV influences. But few shows in recent memory have shouted out their televised inspirations more loudly than Marvel’s WandaVision on Disney+. Of course, that was all by design as Mind Stone-altered magic user Wanda Maximoff found herself in a world of her own making. Since the Maximoff family really enjoyed their sitcoms back in Sokovia, Wanda’s days in Westview paid homage to the classics like The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, Family Ties, Malcolm in the Middle, Modern Family, and more....

Another year, another major update for the ever-evolving free-to-play game Warframe. Fans were rather vocal about the buggy and overambitious updates released last year, which is why Digital Extremes have gone back to basics with the Heart of Deimos update. Releasing on August 25 on all platforms, the Heart of Deimos will introduce Warframe’s third open-world alongside a new systemic system. While it might not sound as game-changing as Railjack, this update’s scope towards building on core aspects of Warframe is exactly what the game needs right now....

Scattered across the map of Verdansk in Call of Duty: Warzone is several popular blueprint weapons. They each have a unique set of attachments and skins meant to define them to their named theme. In Warzone, each weapon has a unique use based on its build. One fan noticed that although the original blueprints are available, the guns found in Warzone are different. Assault Rifles and SMG blueprints in Multiplayer could be running different attachments than their Warzone counterparts....

InXile Entertainment’s latest crowdfunding project, Wasteland 3, successfully blitzes through its $2.75 million goal in just three days with stretch goals being made available. Announced late last month by inXile Entertainment the post-apocalyptic RPG Wasteland 3 has been quickly garnering attention from PC gamers. The third game in the series will be playable in both single player or multiplayer as players control their own party and travel through the chilly climes of Colorado....

This last week was exciting for comic fans, as San Diego’s Comic Con produced some new and exciting revelations for both movie lovers and gamers. Among the news came new information about Halo 5, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, and Disney Infinity 3.0, among others. With the excitement around Comic-Con, there were a few stories from this past week that didn’t make the front page on Game Rant, but that were interesting enough we wanted to take a moment and spotlight them in our weekly Video Game Round-Up....

Crucible’s Trials and Tribulations New World’s Fate An MMO inspired by the Age of Exploration, New World is a very different title from Crucible. Players will use weapons and technology of the area to explore a mysterious island and battle the wild and arcane forces there. The beta has yet to begin but players are already very skeptical about the quality of the game. Criticisms of all kinds has been levied at the game: some feel the graphics look outdated while others expect no excitement from the gameplay they’ve seen....

Fans have asked, and EA has finally listened. The Sims 4 will be getting updated skin tones for the base game in a few major ways. The outcry for improved skin tones has been around in The Sims community for quite awhile now, but it seemed as though EA and Maxis had other priorities before shifting focus to fixing skin tones in-game. Concerns about the appearance and texture of the skin tones in The Sims 4 were criticized since the launch of the game six years ago, but didn’t gain serious traction until August 2020....
