This Vikings review contains spoilers. Vikings Season 5 Episode 17 “I killed one of my sons to save the other. May God forgive me.” Like most multi-arc serial dramas Vikings generally makes a point of thematically tying together each of its story lines, and “The Most Terrible Thing” shows creator/showrunner Michael Hirst at the top of his game as he seamlessly connects the dynamic events stretching from Iceland to Kattegat. There’s still no word of Lagertha’s fate, but recent ground shaking developments keep the narrative fresh and interest level high as the power shifts continue to evolve....

I came here to make trouble.” This is one of those instances that after a period of intense action, Vikings wisely steps away and takes a moment to breathe as each of the major players reevaluate their individual situations and make plans to strike out in new directions. While the overall intent of the story arcs remains the same, “The Plan” sets out to remind viewers that these are men and women of action, and once again manages to provide a reasonable amount of attention to each....

Activision held a Q2 earnings call earlier today, where it revealed new information concerning the next Call of Duty game. After all of the rumors and speculation surrounding the title, Activision has not only confirmed that Call of Duty 2020 is happening, but it also announced another developer is working with Treyarch on the upcoming installment. It happens to be a co-developer on Call of Duty: Warzone. According to the call, Raven Software will assist Treyarch Studios with the upcoming Call of Duty 2020 — rumored to be titled Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War by Doritos....

The Stadium has been a talking point since the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1. The massive building in the middle of the map is easily noticed from the air while providing loot outside all of its barricaded doors. After months of wondering, some clever Warzone fans have found a way inside the building through less than practical means. The franchise is known for its time period jumping and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is no different, taking place among vikings. Players will control Eivor, who can be either male or female. This is a bit different from its predecessor Odyssey, where players choose between two different characters: Alexios or Kassandra. With all the excitement about the upcoming game’s release, sometimes it’s hard to keep track of which trailers came out first or which garnered the most hype....

Fans of the buggy, yet unique DayZ zombacolypse mod were excited for jumping into the standalone game before the holidays, but that estimated date was entirely realistic. It’s now February with the game still unreleased and still without any deadlines for public testing. The trade-off for the worthwhile delay, is that DayZ is poised to offer a legitimately improved standalone experience. Dean “Rocket” Hall and Matt Lightfoot of Bohemia Interactive’s DayZ standalone game dev team shared a 15-minute gameplay video yesterday to showcase a few major changes from the ARMA 2 mod, from the user interface and improved gameplay mechanics, but keep mum on many of the game’s basics....

It’s been about a month since Mortal Kombat 11 was officially revealed at The Game Awards, but at the time developer NetherRealm was only willing to showcase a CG trailer confirming two fighters: Scorpion and Raiden. However, a bigger reveal is set for later today, where Mortal Kombat 11 will get the grand treatment, including a gameplay-focused livestream and hands-on event. While MK fans around the world may not be able to attend the Mortal Kombat 11 event, which has invited all manner of celebrities and gaming personalities, they can watch the gameplay reveal live via Twitch....

In the world of horror movies, it doesn’t get much bigger than writer and director Wes Craven. Before his passing, he was incredibly well known in both the horror community and the general film world, primarily for his creation of the A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream franchises. Both have spawned multiple sequels and are well known for their iconic movie villains - Freddy Krueger and Ghostface. Fans would think that with these characters under his belt, Craven’s favorite villain would be one of his own creation....

The original chief writer of the Pokémon anime had wanted to end Ash’s story a lot sooner and it would have depressed kids all around the world if it had made it to air. Takeshi Shudo was the chief writer of the Pokémon anime from 1997-2002....

After five long years, Rocksteady has revealed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as its super-heroic follow-up project to Arkham Knight. The new game is not a continuation of the Arkham series, either in continuity or tone, and that is one of the title’s greatest strengths—especially with Gotham Knights to fill the Batman-shaped hole in the upcoming line-up of superhero titles. Batman is arguably DC’s most popular (and lucrative) superhero. But there is a good case to be made for benching the Caped Crusader in Suicide Squad....

When The Quiet Man was revealed during Square Enix’s E3 showcase this past June, there wasn’t much to go off of from the initial trailer. The Sims 4: Journey To Batuu is the latest game pack and it combines The Sims 4 with another huge franchise, Star Wars. The two come together in a unique collaboration that combines Sims gameplay and mechanics with the characters, lore, and locations from Galaxy’s Edge. The pack’s theme has drawn criticism but there is a lot to love in its content. Not only is Batuu beautiful but you can go on missions, make friends with some weird and wonderful aliens and take the Millenium Falcon for a spin....

The Sims is a classic series that has enjoyed success since it first launched in the year 2000. Both hardcore gamers and casual players love The Sims. It has helped bridge the gap for those who wouldn’t tend to play video games. J.K. Rowling is purported to be a Sims player (and it just might be where she gets her ideas to off our favourites characters in morbid ways). The Sims has also enjoyed an abiding appreciation with sociopaths, who like to drown their poor Sims or trap them in houses made only of walls that get closer and closer....

2008’s The Strangers was a surprisingly good horror movie, but it isn’t typically held in the same high regard as modern genre classics like It Follows, The Conjuring, or The Babadook. The one ace the film did have up its sleeve, though, was its brilliant use of the home invasion scenario. There’s just something fundamentally terrifying about the idea of a group of people corrupting the one place you are supposed to feel safest....
