With LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) rights being at the forefront of recent discussion as policy and law makers look to better provide rights otherwise not afforded based on sexual orientation of gender identity, questions are being asked at how queer people can be represented not just in courthouses, but in the media too. As a great deal of American people rallied to have DADT (Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, a policy which excluded queer people from the military) and DOMA (the Defense of Marriage Act, a policy which didn’t allow gay marriages or marriage rights to be recognised) repealed, as well as gay rights (marriage and other anti-discrimination law) victories across the globe, the support is clearly there for the acceptance of queer people....

Fans of the smash-hit farming simulator Stardew Valley have received some very promising news about the game’s newest update. The endless debate over the merits and flaws of Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi got another shot in the arm on the week before Christmas. Franchise veteran Alan Dean Foster, during a long livestreamed interview on the YouTube analysis show Midnight’s Edge, mentioned that he “thought it was a terrible film.” He even went so far as to write a treatment for the final film in the trilogy, which would do as much as possible to fix what he saw as the damage Johnson had done....

The Battlefield series was one of the most loved franchises in the world of first person shooters. Unfortunately, the series has lost some of its luster recently. After the disappointing release of Battlefield 4, which suffered a launch so clunky that even EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson called it “unacceptable” in June, the series has tried to regain some of that respect through fan communication. Watch Dogs Legion lets players assume the role of an Assassin’s Creed protagonist’s relative, it has been confirmed. Ubisoft has teased the various skills offered by Watch Dogs Legion’s characters and this could be extremely helpful to players trying to complete harder missions. A Watch Dogs Legion preview video posted by YouTuber JorRaptor and screenshotted by Twitter user ANerdWonder revealed an Assassin’s Creed protagonist descendant who features in the game. Sandra Cassidy is a professional hitman who comes up in a character’s search for “Jacob Frye descendants” in the DedSec operatives database....

Stargate fancast Dial the Gate recently announced the lengthy list of former cast members of the Stargate series who will be appearing on future episodes. Included in the announcement were details on a future Dial the Gate episode involving six Stargate cast members who will be roleplaying a one-shot of the incoming Stargate SG-1 Roleplaying Game. Dial the Gate’s Stargate SG-1 RPG Game Play episode is currently scheduled to broadcast this October 18 at 2pm PT / 5pm ET on DtG’s YouTube channel....

There are some who would have you believe that Super Mario Bros, the 1993 live-action film based on the hit Nintendo franchise, is a bad movie. It’s safe to say that we were all blown away by the Unreal Engine 5 tech demo that was broadcast last May. Epic’s new engine uses brand new technologies called Nanite and Lumen to render photorealistic images with billions of polygons and lighting that fully mimics actual, real-life light. It was an incredible display that should excite anyone for next-generation games. What’s even more impressive is how good it looked despite being streamed....
