The Reaper Game is starting anew, as an anime adaptation of The World Ends with You has been announced for 2021. The World Ends with You was originally released for the Nintendo DS in 2007, where it quickly gained a cult-following who adored its characters, story, and dual-screen battles. The game has since been remade for mobile phones and Nintendo Switch, with additional content and post-game scenarios. It’s notably the only Square Enix franchise to be featured in the Kingdom Hearts series outside of Final Fantasy, with the cast of The World Ends with You taking over Traverse Town in Dream Drop Distance....

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players on PC were recently surprised to discover that Ubisoft had removed achievements for the game. A Ubisoft representative confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla would instead have Ubisoft Connect “Challenges” on PC, rather than achievements. This led to a lot of disappointment among Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players, but Ubisoft has now corrected its previous statement and confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla achievements will be coming to PC....

In an effort to celebrate the Notre-Dame in Paris, France, Ubisoft has announced it will be giving away Assassin’s Creed Unity for free on PC. Moreover, the studio will be donating money towards the restoration of the historical landmark, which was damaged in a fire earlier this week. Valve has decided to cancel ESL One Rio Major 2020, the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major Championship, in light of the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic. The event, which was scheduled for May 11 to 24, was later postponed to November 9 to 22. However, given current travel restrictions and health concerns, the organization has decided to forego the competition altogether. The ESL One Rio Major 2020, which was expected to include a $2 million prize pool, had invited twenty-four professional teams from around the world that had selected as winners of regional qualifiers called the Road to Rio....

In a move that surprised many gamers, publisher Electronic Arts today closed down Sims developer Maxis Emeryville. In a statement provided to Polygon, EA was quick to share that The Sims franchise would continue forward, but that they were consolidating their office in Emeryville, California - the office that served as Maxis headquarters for over two decades - and moving the office’s responsibilities to other locations.
