Theme parks across the world have taken a significant beating due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with the likes of Disney World and Universal shut down. While some theme park goers were hopeful that they would be able to visit Universal at some point next month, it’s now been confirmed that both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood will remain closed until May 31. As part of its closure, Universal has confirmed that many of its employees are being furloughed....

Coldwood Interactive’s Unravel is a moving puzzle platformer bolstered by strong level design, a creative mechanic, and an unbelievably endearing main character. When Unravel was first revealed back at EA’s E3 2015 press conference, most pegged it as the next Ori and the Blind Forest– a potentially moving experience featuring a memorable central character, beautiful art, and simple yet effective platforming/puzzle-solving. At the time, the comparisons were apt but still left plenty of questions....

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood features a haunting atmosphere and plenty of scares, but the experience is hampered by a constant need to calibrate the hardware. 2015’s Until Dawn was a surprise hit for Sony, and its strong sales equated to a new horror franchise for the PlayStation brand. While some fans are holding out for a direct sequel to the original game, they can whet their appetite in the meantime with Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, an on-rails shooter that plays nothing like the original, but has a similar atmosphere and features some of the same enemies and locations....

A new law could make streaming copyrighted material, such as video games, a felony, punishable with imprisonment. The bill, which includes the Copyright Alternative in Small-Claims Enforcement Act and the Trademark Modernization Act, would enable copyright owners to file infringement claims and a “felony streaming proposal” that would punish those streaming copyrighted material. The bill contends that illegal streaming violates the “right of public performance” and demands “the same level of felony penalties” for such violations....

Valorant’s popularity is on an incredible rise lately. Similar to CS:GO, Valorant is a five-on-five, search and destroy-type multiplayer. Unlike CS:GO though, Valorant’s agents use unique abilities in an attempt to gain an advantage on the battlefield. Certain agents rely on stealth, while others are better suited to go in guns blazing. Sabine, or better yet Viper, utilizes poisonous toxins to gain the upper hand on her enemies. While many Valorant players are still disappointed that the game won’t be getting the highly requested map selection feature, it’s not all bad news for fans of the shooter. In the same Ask Valorant blog post, Riot Games confirmed that an in-game replay system is something that is being looked into for a future update. Valorant has dealt with a rocky start since the game’s full launch following beta. Many players were put off by the shooter for including a highly invasive anti-cheat software that if players turned off while not playing the game, they would need to perform a full PC restart to be able to play the game again....

Ever played a VALORANT match that felt like pulling teeth? Well, players won’t have to deal with that for much longer—senior producer Ian Fielding has announced that Patch 1.02 will be introducing a surrender function to the game. The announcement was made in today’s blog post, the first of the developers’ “Ask VALORANT” series. The post didn’t go into much detail beyond confirming that the surrender function would be introduced and further explained in the Patch 1....

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, or CS:GO, has become a significant title in esports since developer and publisher Valve first introduced the Major Championships in 2013. Initially promising a $250,000 prize pool, the Majors, as they are colloquially called, now offer a $1 million pot and feature 24 teams from around the globe. According to an email recently sent out to event organizers, Valve will be canceling the next CS:GO Major Championship, the Spring Major, which was scheduled to take place from May 10-23, 2021....

In a Tweet posted on the official Webkinz account on October 23, Ganz announced the relaunching and rebranding of Webkinz, promising fans a “whole new world” to explore with their fuzzy friends alongside the Classic website. Originally launched in 2005, Webkinz are a line of stuffed animals popular for having online counterparts that could be cared for and played with in various mini-games on their website. It’s comparable to Neopets, with the caveat that the online games were only accessible if you bought the physical stuffed animals....
