In the wake of Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda, another major video game industry acquisition has just begun. ByteDance, the company behind TikTok, has announced that it is acquiring Mobile Legends developer Moonton as part of its Nuverse gaming division. The exact amount that ByteDance is paying to acquire Moonton is unknown, but the valuations of the company have estimated a cost of multiple billions of dollars. It’s unclear when the acquisition will be finalized....

The first trailer for Tomb Raider Reloaded dropped today revealing it to be a free-to-play mobile arcade shooter that’s coming sometime in 2021....

Streamer Chris “AirsoftPhatty” LaFon has been permanently banned from Twitch, though for a different reason than most bans that have occurred recently. Twitch has been cracking down on streamers for breaking its terms of service guidelines for streaming. Many of the recent Twitch bans have been issued in accordance with Twitch’s updated policy, which more heavily monitors hate and harassment speech as well as “sexually focused insults.” However, streamers are being banned at a high rate, including some high profile streamers like Dr Disrespect, Voyboy, xQc, and ZeRo....

Twitch has acquired a reputation for banning streamers from its platform for sometimes unclear, unfair, or even shady reasons. While some personalities have been able to remain on the service after repeated questionable behavior, Twitch has made it apparent that even highly popular moneymakers like Dr Disrespect aren’t immune to being banned. One of the latest streamers to be temporarily removed from the site goes by the handle Alisha12287 and is known for playing games such as Runescape, Minecraft, and Counterstrike: GO on her Twitch and YouTube channels....

Ubisoft has confirmed that the beta for The Division is no longer gauranteeing access to those on the wait list after an ‘unprecedented response’ from fans. Since yesterday, gamers interested in The Division have been able to access the closed beta, which is slated to run until the end of the weekend. It hasn’t taken long for countless gamers to give The Division a run for its money, though it’s not as if Ubisoft was caught unprepared - the studio fixed upwards of 10,000 bugs ahead of the beta release....

The Green Hornet was one of the early superheroes to gain popularity with audiences when he made his debut in the 1930s. Several different versions of the story have been made since then, with the 1960s TV show being the best-known of the bunch today because of Bruce Lee’s co-starring role as Kato, the Hornet’s skilled valet and sidekick. When Microsoft Flight Simulator launched earlier this week, users were surprised to find that downloading the title required the use of an in-game launcher. This normally wouldn’t be an issue, but it created a strange scenario for Steam users. In order to qualify for a refund on any purchase, users cannot play a game for more than two hours. Because of how Flight Sim handles downloads, however, that in-game counter was skyrocketing on certain machines....

Back in March, earlier this year, YouTuber Leonhart opened a Pokemon Training Card pack, and inside was one of the more rare Pokemon cards; a 1999 Charizard worth around $55,000 at the time. Leonhart sent his rare card in the mail to PSA Card, an authentication and grading service. But instead of arriving in the California office, the card was lost in the mail, seemingly gone forever. This review contains spoilers for What If…? episode 3. Episode 3 of Marvel Studios’ What If…? animated series is an enjoyably ridiculous, twisty whodunnit revolving around SHIELD boss Nick Fury as he tries to work out who exactly is taking out his Avengers Initiative candidates before they’ve had a chance to join the team.
