With the video game industry continuing to grow and take away even more time from the life of us gamers, the releases of some Triple-A games have turned into all-out events where people mark their calendars and line-up for midnight launches. We saw it this year with Batman: Arkham City and Gears of War 3, but no game series has stronger launches then Call of Duty and Activision pulled it off again Tuesday with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3....

While the Battlefield franchise has long been known for its top tier multiplayer experience, it has only just recently tried its hand at story-driven single player campaigns. As a result, the single player portions in recent Battlefield iterations have been mediocre at best, derivative at worst. But, with the introduction of Battlefield Hardline on Tuesday morning came a new hope for the franchise. Now that Visceral Games is in charge of developing their own Battlefield iteration, the assumption is that the developer will bring its strengths in the single player space to EA and DICE’s flagship franchise....

Several interesting images were shared from this datamine, which has led to a discussion amongst the leaker community. Rambo and John McClane finally arrive in Call of Duty this week as the franchise celebrates ’80s action heroes. After voice clips and screenshots of the iconic characters were leaked, Call of Duty players have been eagerly awaiting the arrivals of John Rambo and John McClane. That day has finally arrived as the trailer for CoD’s ’80s Action Heroes event dropped this week. Rambo, McClane, and a host of other nostalgia-fueled action movie elements will arrive in-game today or tomorrow, depending on your timezone....

Ben Andrews, the concept art coordinator at Cyberpunk’s guns and mechanical devices, claims that Cyberpunk 2077’s depiction of firearms will be like “American gun culture just gone crazy.” Speaking to the official PlayStation Magazine, the dev team discussed the game’s fashion, weapons, and vehicles. Speaking specifically about the weapons, Andrews said, “One of the things we thought about with the weapons is that in Cyberpunk, we have a very overt weapon culture… Everybody has a gun because violence has been taken to the extremes....

There’s been no mandate to stretch this tale out over six-to-nine episodes. There’s little in the way of reliance on CG or green screen effects. Nor is there any urge to connect the plot to upcoming MCU stories. It simply is. That feels like a smart choice for this entry into the cinematic universe, which has been struggling to find its feet since wrapping The Infinity Saga in 2019. The action centers on Gael García Bernal’s Jack Russell – bless them for unashamedly sticking with the original name – a sweet-natured lycanthrope in control of his inner monster, and the mysterious Elsa Bloodstone (Laura Donnelly), a character who is often unfairly referred to as Marvel Comics’ Buffy the Vampire Slayer ripoff....

Since Fortnite developer Epic Games launched the Epic Games Store last year, it has quickly snapped up several high-profile games. Metro Exodus, Phoenix Point, Telltale’s The Walking: The Final Season, and several Ubisoft games are all exclusive to the platform and today, the list of major games on the Epic Games Store grew a little longer. Epic Games confirmed that The Outer Worlds, the upcoming sci-fi RPG from Fallout: New Vegas developer Obsidian Entertainment, will be on its store at launch....

Hollywood is no stranger to adaptation. From video games, to books, to remakes of other movies, the process of taking intellectual property and building up a brand new silver screen epic is practically an art form in and of itself. A few screenwriters are going to be facing a particularly interesting challenge, however, as news has just broken of a very interesting adaptation coming down the pipeline. As Deadline reports: Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment Group and Endeavor Content are working together to create a feature film based on the famous cube....

EA has just announced the release of The Sims 4 Courtyard Oasis Kit. In keeping with previous kits, this pack focuses on a more niche theme as well as a specific playstyle and features a limited number of items. Courtyard Oasis is said to be inspired by the Riads of Morocco and this is evident in the vibrant colors we see in the images released so far. The pack appears to be designed with builders in mind, incorporating colorful fountains, latticed wooden windows, elaborate archways, and beautifully tiled staircases....

After first announcing at 2022’s San Diego Comic-Con that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne’s (Danai Gurira) story would be continuing as a six-episode limited series rather than a movie trilogy, AMC has now revealed that this spinoff of The Walking Dead likely won’t be coming anytime soon. When the series was first announced, it was originally given a release window of 2023, but that window has now been pushed to 2024....

The Witcher 3 primarily focuses on Geralt killing monsters, solving mysteries, and, of course, looking for Ciri and later fighting the Wild Hunt that’s after Ciri. All in all, Geralt and the other characters in the game stay pretty busy since dangers and challenges hide behind almost every corner. However, even the busiest person alive needs some time off, and that’s when romances come into play. Throughout the game, Geralt has the option to pursue multiple love interests, some temporary, some lasting longer....

In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Necrophages are the scourge of cemeteries and gravesites. People who find themselves unlucky enough to witness an infestation of these fiends need to contact a Witcher. Geralt of Rivia, perhaps the best among them, is only too happy to oblige. Necrophages come in many forms and they’re often not alone. Knowing what kind of corpse-eating villain the player is dealing with can go a long way toward dispatching it with ease....

So here’s a thought: what if every character in Apex Legends is actually cloned? The latest trailer for Season 5 of Apex Legends just dropped last week and it showcased Loba getting her revenge on Revenant. Or at least, trying to. It turns out that Revenant has an army of robots that he can seemingly download his consciousness into, but the original human mind is kept behind lock and key. Loba tries to kill that mind but fails, leading to her appearing in the Apex Games....

Boss battles are essential mechanics in so many gaming genres. Action titles, of course, often mix things up by throwing in a showdown with a great, lumbering mass of teeth and pain the size of the Chrysler Building. Platformers feature iconic bosses like the nefarious Bowser and Dr. Robotnik, and even some quirky puzzlers feature boss battles of some kind or another. Final boss battles, however, are a cut above (at least, that’s the theory)....
