In an announcement at the Game Developers Conference, Ubisoft reveals that the upcoming Watch Dogs 2 will support DirectX 12, and will be optimized for AMD GPUs. Although Watch Dogs 2 is still a ways off, new details about the work going into the game is gradually being revealed. According to Ubisoft, Watch Dogs 2 will make use of DirectX 12 for its graphics. In the announcement, an Ubisoft official explained that Watch Dogs 2 will feature support for the latest version of DirectX....

The prequel to Destiny 2 is no longer being updated with content, but it still has an active playerbase that is currently frustrated at not being able to play. After many years of community asks and requests, Sims 4 finally adds bunk beds for children in its most recent update. Surprisingly, bunk beds weren’t a feature in Sims 4 prior to its recent announcement, despite fans asking for it since the game’s release in 2014. Before, players have had to create bunk beds with makeshift objects if they wanted to use them or conserve space, such as with the new platform tool that came in the Sims 4: Snowy Escape DLC pack....

Gato Salvaje Studio recently uploaded another update to its party-based RPG before the years’ end. The Community Update specifically features combat and gameplay improvements that have been directly requested by the game’s Early Access players, and includes new cinematic and UI improvements, as well. The Community Update was announced via video on the Gato Studio YouTube channel, and a blog post on the game’s Steam Community page. Square Enix has released a longer look at the The World Ends With You anime, to be titled The World Ends With You: The Animation. Although the new trailer suggests work on the anime is well under way, there is no official release date more specific than some time within 2021. The World Ends With You: The Animation appears to be a direct adaptation of the game’s plot. The 2008 DS game follows Neku Sakuraba, a teenager living in Tokyo’s bustling Shibuya district....

To celebrate May the Fourth, Disney has announced that Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok director and Academy Award winner, will direct and co-write the next Star Wars feature film. Fans of Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall series have been hungry for a new game for a very long time now. Although 2016’s Titanfall 2 didn’t sell as well as EA had hoped, the publisher’s official acquisition of Respawn last year brought with it a confirmation of a third Titanfall game. Details have since been incredibly scarce, with it not even being mentioned at E3 this year but it looks like we might finally have some idea when the game will drop....

Despite the massive success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the popularity of its star-studded cast, these actors aren’t guaranteed careers after they leave the MCU. In a surprise announcement, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is being remastered in 4k glory for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC on September 4th. Programmer Constantin Liétard, over a week ago, started up a game of Pokémon Red that is being played entirely through their Twitter avatar by followers. Users comment commands and the most frequent ones go through, so it’s a little like Twitch Plays if not more ambitious. Now, they’ve beaten the second Gym Leader, Misty. Twitter managed to pull off this feat with a Level 18 Oddish named CURSE. Alongside them, in the party, are Spearow, a Wigglytuff named POP, a Wartortle going by AMAYBE, a Geodude called ABBPRI, and an Abra deceptively nicknamed Alakazam....

If there was any mutinous doubt that Ubisoft was devoted to making Assassin’s Creed an annual franchise after four annual releases spanning Assassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s Creed 3, it was cast overboard as jetsam the moment Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag sailed into view this Spring, signaling that the series was prepared to meet the next generation head-on with its brand new protagonist in Edward Kenway. But similar to, say, Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed appears to have become an annual franchise only in the broader, terminal sense of games on shelves....

Although there is one last hurrah for Pokémon GO’s Throwback Events, anyone planning on a full day of Pokémon catching today will need to reconsider. Pokémon GO has revolved around Throwback Events throughout the month of May. Trainers who completed all four will be able to participate in the fifth and final event this week – the Throwback Challenge Champion 2020 event. Those who didn’t manage to complete every single event can still buy a ticket, should they still want to take part later this week....

Campo Santo – developer of the critically-acclaimed title, Firewatch – is officially becoming a part of Valve umbrella. This past weekend, the Campo Santo team posted a blog on their website, indicating that the twelve-person studio will be combining forces with Valve in an effort to continue their love (and jobs) of creating video games, while helping Valve to (finally) achieve its newly rediscovered desire to start shipping games again....
