An image of a red and black version of the PS5 has surfaced and there are claims that it’s the real deal. PlayStation held a PS5 reveal event last month that was watched by millions of potential future owners of the console. Sony had remained tight-lipped up until that point on what gamers can expect from the next-gen console. The event included a boatload of games that will be available at the end of 2020 and into 2021, and also that two versions of the PS5 will be available at launch....

Respawn Entertainment’s free-to-play Titanfall battle royale game, titled Apex Legends, is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. As leaked last week, Apex Legends launched in tandem with its announcement, made Monday afternoon via a livestream. Battle royale fans can download Apex Legends right now on their platform of choice and join in on the Season One action as it begins. Apex Legends is a 60-player, squad-based online multiplayer battle royale first-person shooter....

In keeping with the year’s trends, Tokyo Comic Con 2020 has been confirmed by staff to be an online event. Taking place from December 4th through the 6th, Tokyo Comic Con 2020 will be the 5th annual iteration of the convention which began in 2016. Tokyo Comic Con 2020 joins the likes of New York Comic Con and DC FanDome in switching to an online-only model for 2020. The company behind Tokyo Comic Con made the announcement on August 20th, giving potential attendees plenty of time to adjust their plans for the December convention....

Robomodo’s attempt to resurrect the long-dormant Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series is not a success — in fact, fans of previous games will likely see it as a slap in the face. Even for a developer with the less-than-stellar reputation of Robomodo, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 should have been a simple project to execute. The core gameplay of the series is the key — and as it grew further from that basis in the 1990’s, that’s when players began to cool on the franchise....

There are plenty of experimental games out there, including some interesting takes on the MMO genre as we’re about to see with DUST 514 by CCP Games. The latest title in this category however, is Defiance, an MMO-shooter hybrid developed by Trion Worlds. Details on the game are sparse at the moment, but so far it sounds rather ambitious. Defiance’s world will be a persistent one, though this time in the realm of a shooter....

Debuting earlier today, the Nintendo Indie World Showcase highlighted a number of brand new games coming to Switch this month and throughout 2021. Amongst the likes of Super Meat Boy Forever being announced as a console-launch exclusive and Among Us getting a surprise drop today, the showcase also focused on an exciting new game called Tunche. The core gameplay sees players pick one of five playable heroes - including A Hat in Time’s central protagonist Hat Kid - with each character possessing their own set of abilities and skills....

The progression of news regarding Valorant’s anti-cheat efforts over the past weeks has gone about as expected. First, news broke that Valorant’s anti-cheat was always on, starting with boot-up. Next came the news that Valorant’s anti-cheat was preventing certain input devices from working. Now Riot’s issued a swift hotfix which looks to dramatically reduce the blocking power of the anti-cheat. According to Paul Chamberlain, Riot’s anti-cheat lead for Valorant, the new hotfix removes the ability for the software to block “most” drivers....

Yet another bug has made its way to VALORANT’s servers, and this one is a game breaker. Patch 1.07 brought massive changes to multiple VALORANT agents, strongly nerfing Sage and buffing Breach. Everyone’s favorite purple ghost, Omen, also received an unintended buff that threatens to ruin competitive play if not fixed soon. In the past, Omen has been the cause of several glitches, usually revolving around his teleporting ability, Shrouded Step....

There was a time when Valve’s digital distribution software, Steam, was beloved and lauded by some as the one true place for PC gamers to download the latest hits. But as the years have gone, Steam has gained a much more notorious reputation, having been accused of mismanagement and allowing practically anything be included, such as titles that spread hate-speech or are just generally offensive. This year, Valve has seemed to start trying to clean house and address the criticisms (earlier it banned nearly 180 games from Steam) and has most recently come up with a solution to deal with review bombing....

As most people’s go-to platform when it comes to buying PC games, Valve’s Steam service is an industry leader. When similar PC gaming services like Games for Windows are being ditched constantly in favor of Steam and publisher led efforts like EA Origin and Uplay have mostly disappointed gamers, their success is set to continue. But being on top certainly has its downsides. Valve has come under fire on a multitude of issues including their apparent reluctance to give out refunds, the abuse of Steam Greenlight by some developers promoting concepts rather than any tangible gameplay and the confusion surrounding Steam Early Access has led gamers to ask why and how developers are able to charge for in-development code to fund finished products that never see the light of day....

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has been without a lead narrative designer since late August, but no longer. The vampire action roleplaying game has found itself a new head storyteller. The long-awaited sequel to 2004’s cult hit, Bloodlines 2 has seen some turmoil in the last couple of months. As recently as last week, Senior Narrative Designer Cara Ellison decided to leave the project for another opportunity. Prior to that, in August, developer Hardsuit Labs and publisher Paradox parted ways with the game’s creative director and lead narrative designer, neither of which are positive signs for a game approaching release....

As we all know, Vampire: The Masquerade — Swansong was first announced quite a while ago. Today, during the PC Gaming Show, we got a closer look into the game. We already knew that the game features three vampires that you play, as they’re fighting for survival in the city of Boston. The new Prince of the Boston Camarilla plans to reinforce the Masquerade, which is the law that is supposed to ensure humans never learn about the vampires....

The Legend of Zelda Breath the Wild just turned four years old, yet in what is still a relatively short lifespan, it’s become one of the best open-world games out there. Perhaps for that reason, people are constantly finding new ways to play Breath of the Wild by leveling up the experience with astonishing 8K or VR mods. Many fans and journalists alike speculated that, at some point in WandaVision, Mephisto would crop up as the big bad finale, perhaps even the catalyst that would force Agatha Harkness and Wanda Maxiamoff into an alliance. However, that wasn’t on the tables, and it didn’t happen. Executive Producer Jac Schaeffer said that the show didn’t need a “big bad.” “This is essentially what we envisioned from the very beginning,” he stated, “This was always going to be a story about grief, and we took that seriously, and it’s a little bit reductive, but we used the stages of grief to map out the arc of the season, and we knew what we wanted to take it to a place of acceptance...

A surprise weekend game announcement came recently from the developers of Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster. Frontier Developments is working on a real-time strategy game based on the 2015 Warhammer Age of Sigmar miniature game, Warhammer Age of Sigmar being the modern iteration of the original Warhammer. The reveal comes from a press release on Frontier’s official website, confirming that Frontier had signed an IP license with Warhammer property owner Games Workshop....

Frontier Developments releases detailed footage of the first-ever live demo gameplay for its space sim Elite: Dangerous’ lunar vehicles known as SRVs. Frontier Developments’ Community and Social Media Manager Edward Lewis, Art Director Chris Gregory, and Lead Designer Mike Evans recently gave Elite: Dangerous fans an hour-long livestream demo showcasing units called Surface Recon Vehicles (SRVs) from the game’s upcoming expansion Horizons. Essentially, SRVs are all-terrain dune buggies that can be driven on planetary surfaces out in space....

Frank West is back for another zombie caper in Dead Rising 4 and IGN has released the first 33 minutes of the game, which reveals why the aging photojournalist is battling the undead once again. Simply going by what Frank West has been though in the past, many would assume his days of exposing military secrets and eviscerating zombies while dressed as Mega Man were far behind him. We know that Dead Rising 4 brings Frank back to center stage as the game’s main protagonist, but why would he return to this life?...
