There have been numerous Smurf video games over the years, but the release of the first The Smurfs movie led to a resurgence of interest in the property and some new titles on the Nintendo DS and Wii....
Punch Punk Studio’s This is the Zodiac Speaking, a game centered on the Zodiac murders and based in fact, is an interesting concept. Unfortunately, it fumbles in its execution, resulting in disappointment from a gameplay, narrative, and technical standpoint that undermines any potential the concept had. The game’s narrative puts players in the role of a journalist named Robert as he tries to save the souls of the Zodiac’s victims through rituals that involve recreating the murders in a sort of dream realm....

Twitch streamer kaceytron has been suspended indefinitely from streaming platform due to “engaging in hateful conduct and threats of violence against a person or group of people.” This ban stems from a joke that kaceytron made that she has since labeled “insensitive” and in “poor taste.” In a recent rajjpatel stream that kaceytron was a part of, the conversation led to talk about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. During the stream, kaceytron joked that she would leave quarantine and attempt to spread the virus “as much as possible” because “the world would be a better place without old and poor people....
During the COVID-19 crisis, Twitch has hit record numbers. Yet in July, Twitch viewership dropped a bit with streams of hit games like League of Legends and Fortnite decreasing. The livestreaming service, however, saw numbers increase in its Just Chatting category, as well as the Creative and Music & Performing Arts categories. Just Chatting increased to 176 million hours watched in July, up from 166 million in June, according to the StreamElements and Arsenal....

I went into Crash Bandicoot: On The Run with low expectations. It’s a mobile game, and while I know some can be great, very few have ever clicked with me in the way console titles have. It’s also an endless runner, and while that energetic genre might seem on the surface like a good fit, I can’t quite vibe with it. Crash Bandicoot is best when it’s focussed, where levels can be perfected through repetition, where you find your rhythm and stick to it, and where variety opens the world up....
