It’s loosely based on the sort of armored trains that crisscross the Soviet Union, transporting military arms and armaments including nuclear weapons. They were designed to withstand a tank shell and keep moving. So when a group of players thought that a couple of trucks would slow it down… well, they probably should have known better, but maybe they didn’t read up on Russian history....

While this is likely obvious to most people reading, a new report from VG 24/7 has suggested that Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs series originally began life as a Driver sequel before shifting gears towards something resembling Grand Theft Auto. Speaking with current and former Ubisoft employees (a few of which chose to remain anonymous), it seems the idea was to take Driver into the modern era while introducing elements that would be brand new for the series....

It’s taken longer than initially expected for Watch Dogs Legion to release, thanks to Ubisoft delaying it from its original March 2020 launch, but the wait is almost over. The next entry in the hacking-based open-world series is finally coming out tomorrow, and better yet, early reviews have made their way online for those eager to know if it’s worth buying. Despite spanning only three games so far, the Watch Dogs series has shown a willingness to shake up core aspects of its formula with each game, which has culminated in the biggest shift yet with Legion’s “play as anyone” mechanic....

EA recently revealed an upcoming The Sims 4 stuff pack, the Paranormal stuff pack, that includes haunted houses, new career paths, and the return of Bonehilda. As revealed during The Suicide Squad FanDome panel, writer-director James Gunn has a lot of new, never-before seen toys to play with in his next superhero movie. At the panel alone, he revealed Idris Elba is portraying Bloodsport and Peter Capaldi is The Thinker, to name but a few. Yet, even so, his favorite character to write is Harley Quinn, as played by Margot Robbie, bar none. CD Projekt Red’s successor IP to its acclaimed The Witcher series may not feature the titular character himself, but that doesn’t stop artists from imagining. Geralt of Rivia has been thrust into the world of Cyberpunk in an artist’s creation, and the result will probably be the coolest thing you’ll see today. Tencent illustrator RX shared their creation on ArtStation, which plucks Geralt of Rivia from his usual, medieval setting and places him in the bustling, neon streets of Night City....

Titanfall: Frontline, the mobile card game spin-off of the Titanfall series, is cancelled due to difficulty creating an experience that matched the original games. Both publisher Electronic Arts and developer Respawn Entertainment have long planned for Titanfall to become a strong franchise in its own right. Included in this scope was the introduction of Titanfall spin-off mobile games, with mobile card game Titanfall: Frontline acting as one such example of this plan in action....

When it comes to the revival of ToeJam & Earl, things have been admittedly quiet lately. Recently, game designer Greg Johnson announced that ToeJam & Earl would eventually be coming to the Nintendo Switch alongside its official confirmation at the Nindies, and fans travelling to PAX East this weekend have also had a chance to try out the game in person. The studio also confirmed that other console announcements would be coming soon, so those still waiting for PS4 or Xbox One confirmations should get a definitive (and likely positive) answer soon....
