Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a wildly popular Nintendo exclusive game about talking animals living amongst each other acting in the exchange of goods and services as any normal society does. Tiger King is a Netflix series about a convict who once ran an exhibit full of big cats through some legally dubious means. Why not combine the two? Indeed, both are insanely popular. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has sold extraordinarily during this time in isolation, and Tiger King has garnered a crazy amount of attention during the pandemic....

I’ve talked about The Sims series before, and it continues to amaze me just how family-unfriendly it can be. With its pastel colors, its complete lack of cursing, smoking, drugs, or anything that could be unsavory to the moral majority, its rules can be bent beyond breaking point. For example, a variety of confessions from across the internet have shown me players who create incestuous situations, paste in their favorite characters from various franchises for nefarious reasons, become eugenicists, or make a town of alien-human hybrids....

HBO’s feature documentary Tina is an intimate overview of Tina Turner, the person behind the musical icon. It is also a final statement, as the singer is moving on from the performance part of her life. The documentary tells Tina’s story the way the singer wanted it told: honestly. Some of Turner’s musical highpoints are skipped, like her scene-stealing role as the Acid Queen in Tommy or her appearance on the bulk of Frank Zappa’s Overnight Sensation....

Two very contrasting games released in the same week as each other - a JRPG with a cute anime world and a dangerous dive into the world of assassination. Swap the logos for both Atelier Ryza 2 and Hitman 3, and you get some funny results. FeoUltima (Andrea Dyke), through some clever photo editing, was able to implement the names of each game into the other title’s font. The serious tone of Hitman 3 is given a pretty facelift in the style of Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy....

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is a clear demonstration of two things: developer Naughty Dog’s commitment to telling a satisfying, compelling story, and the determination that is required of a studio to produce a AAA game in spite of potentially crippling setbacks. Take, for instance, Uncharted 4 scrapping nearly 8 months of work after its director, Amy Hennig, left Naughty Dog altogether. Some studios wouldn’t be able to survive such a drastic change, but luckily for Naughty Dog, they had the talented team behind The Last of Us step up....

The addition of dialogue options to Uncharted 4 will not make much of a difference to a player’s control of the plot, but will the illusion make the game more immersive? Uncharted 4 proved to be a more subtle opening to this year’s PlayStation Experience than many would expect. The closed beta for Valorant currently gives access to ten different characters, or Agents, to play as. Each of these Agents fits into one of the four roles: Sentinel, Controller, Initiator, and Duelist. All of the characters accomplish the basic tasks of their class in a different way, making for a complex and varied gameplay experience.
