It looks like a select group of people have taken it upon themselves to review-bomb Valorant on Metacritic. The score has dropped considerably from when it first launched and seems to be getting lower. Because Valorant’s beta did incredibly well, it’s not clear why exactly it ended up the target of review-bombing. However, one can probably make an educated guess from the reviews’ attached comments. Overall, they suggest that a few Counter-Strike: Global Offensive fans aren’t happy with the game....

Digital gaming is the future. No need to wade through your living room just to find that game you’ve been itching to play for weeks. Nope. With digital gaming you can just turn on your system and scroll through your digital library for the game you desire to play. There’s no downside to digital gaming… except for one, and, admittedly, it’s a big one. You don’t own digital games the same way you own physical games....

Vikings Season 6 Episode 16 “The gods work in mysterious ways.” Amidst a plethora of intense soul searching, Vikings finds itself weighted down in a morass of despair, self-loathing, and regret. And while introspection and personal assessment are necessary growth elements for both characters and storylines, “The Final Straw” plods along before finally revealing the next move for Ivar the Boneless. With Kjetill and the other Greenlanders in the rear view mirror, Vikings leaves that thread behind, at least for the time being, and hopefully brings some closure to Floki’s Icelandic debacle....

Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown was perhaps Sega’s worst-kept secret. The game was leaked last month when official art appeared on the Japanese PlayStation storefront, and then earlier today the game was announced early thanks to PlayStation Plus. So it seems that Sega has finally decided the cat’s out of the bag enough that it warrants an official announcement, hosted by IGN. Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown is yet another iteration of Sega’s most recent fighting game, but this time it will be a full remake....

The ability to recruit anyone is one of Watch Dogs Legion’s key features that developer Ubisoft talked about extensively before its release several days ago. To those unfamiliar, each NPC in Watch Dogs Legion can be recruited to join the player’s team, and their skills, abilities, and perks are mostly generated at random. Of course, given the endless combinations that are available in the game, it appears that Watch Dogs Legion’s most important feature has accidentally created a highly-inappropriate character in the game....

Studio Ghibli has released the first scene of their latest film Earwig and the Witch via their Twitter account. The scene matches the typical style expected from the famous studio, but this time the adventure is painted in computer animated images rather than the traditional style that fans mya be used to. The film, which already premiered on December 30, 2020 in Japan, is based on a novel of the same name by author Diana Wynne Jones, and follows a young girl named Earwig who has grown up in an orphanage not knowing that her mother is a witch....

Earlier this week, VentureBeat had learned that Discord was potentially looking to finalize an acquisition sale of the company, though no official company was named. However, the report did mention that sources familiar with the acquisition were exploring sale options before a $10 billion offer was made. Initially, that offer was left to speculation by VentureBeat, but it seems Bloomberg affirmed VentureBeat’s report and affirmed that the huge offer was indeed made by Microsoft....

A couple of months ago, we got our first look at Black Myth: Wukong, an upcoming action-adventure RPG from Chinese studio Game Science. The game is definitely set in Chinese mythology as it sees the player take control of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, as he sets off on a journey of redemption to regain his place in the Chinese pantheon. Or maybe he’s just going out to murder a bunch of demons–it’s not entirely clear from the first trailer....

During a Twitch broadcast of the 2020 League Championship Series, commentators for the event cut to Tyler1 decked out in full Draven cosplay. The energetic League of Legends streamer claimed to be the real Draven, challenging a digitized rendering of the character that was standing right beside him. When the cameras switched over to the Twitch personality, he confidently stated, “you know who to vote for” as he twirled his axes around....

Ubisoft will be shutting down servers for numerous games on June 1. Every title on the list is several years old, although many remain popular all these years after release. This includes Assassin’s Creed 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, and Anno 1404. The shutdowns are part of Ubisoft’s efforts to “deliver the best possible online services” to its customers. By shutting down these older games with few players, it says it can free up resources to work on projects with a larger impact....

PlayStation 4 owners were understandably upset when Sony announced the plan to delay Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to 2016, as it has left a considerable holiday gap of exclusives for the system over the next few months. To help fill the void, however, Sony is giving fans of the franchise the chance to relive the original trilogy in the form of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is looking to do the original releases of the games justice, as it is bringing to the table improved visuals, new game modes, and more....

The Uncharted games are typically renowned for their great pacing and clever dialogue, which is why some may find it strange that Uncharted 3 won’t be receiving any additional single player DLC. Come to think of it, there never has been any campaign DLC in the series. Surely there has to have been some ideas for levels that didn’t make the cut? With all of the funding Naughty Dog gets from parent company Sony it shouldn’t be that difficult for them to create a few single player levels to appease fans....
