Online shooters are some of the most popular multiplayer games today, but with that popularity comes cheaters and hackers looking to ruin everyone else’s fun. Plenty of shooters have had to deal with them, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Apex Legends, and now Valorant, even before its official release date. Upcoming first-person shooter Valorant just started its closed beta a little while ago, and already Riot Games has announced that it had to ban its first cheater....

Valorant closed beta participants are anxious for the addition of the online multiplayer shooter’s Competitive Mode. Despite Riot Games having announced the addition of a Competitive Mode less than a week ago, a release appears to be quickly approaching. Competitive is coming to Valorant very soon, but not today. “Not today” were Riot’s exact words regarding how soon Competitive Mode will be available in Valorant. But the outlook is still very positive....

The fourth Minor and Major of the 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit have been canceled due to coronavirus concerns, Valve announced yesterday. This development comes just a few days after the third DPC Major, ESL One Los Angeles, was postponed. While the LA Major is expected to resume at some point in the future, it is currently unclear if the fourth Major cycle will ever go on. The OGA AMD SAPPHIRE Dota PIT Minor was named as the fourth DPC Minor just last week, and was scheduled to take place in Split, Croatia, in April....

I’ve played a lot of shooters, and I’ve come to a very important conclusion: Warframe has the best reload animations of all time. Here’s a dirty little secret that most game devs probably don’t want you to know about. Whenever you reload a gun in a first-person shooter, most of the time your character is just taking out the magazine and then slapping it right back in. Since the camera is locked pointing forward, you can’t really see yourself reach into a belt pouch to grab a new magazine, so there’s no need to animate the full range of motions required to actually reload a gun....

While chock full of interesting new experiences, specifically Hyper Scape, and the cinematic reveal of one highly anticipated Far Cry sequel, at the close of Ubisoft’s streaming event one question remained on the mind of many a gamer: what happened to Splinter Cell? Although Sam Fisher’s mug may still have appeared via Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad, a certain amount of hype had been building for some sort of reveal that Ubisoft failed to deliver upon, so much so that the Splinter Cell name itself was trending on Twitter not mere hours following the event....

This article contains spoilers for Gunpowder Milkshake. Gunpowder Milkshake has many strong qualities, but the movie’s character work isn’t one of them. The Netflix film is visually vibrant featuring crisp and clever fight sequences, but drops the ball when it comes to story, forgetting to make a case for why we should care about the group of woman assassins at its center. It’s a shame because the film brings together an incredible cast of women—including Karen Gillan, Lena Headey, Angela Bassett, Michelle Yeoh, and Carla Gugino—to play the queer found family ostensibly at the heart of this story....

The School for Good and Evil, Paul Feig’s fantasy adventure film based on Soman Chainani’s YA book series, explores the gray areas in fairy tale morality through a pair of girls who are whisked away to the titular Schools for Good and Evil (SGE for short). Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso), who has always considered herself something of an unappreciated Cinderella within the town of Gavaldon, longs to be the kind of princess she’s only read about in fairy tales....

AMC announced The Walking Dead will conclude with an expanded two-year eleventh season that will consist of 24 episodes. The series will be followed by a new spin-off starring Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier and Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon. With the six remaining episodes from The Walking Dead season 10 scheduled to begin airing early next year, there remain only 30 episodes left of the series that will run through late 2022....

During Mixer’s new Fortnite tournament, Ninja Battles, TSM’s Anthony ‘ZexRow’ Colandro made some rather inappropriate comments which earned him the boot from this and future tournaments. The tournament was hosted by none other than Ninja, who personally delivered the news of the ban to ZexRow with a tweet congratulating the contestant on his first and last Ninja Battle placement. The issue happened during a post match interview with ZexRow. When asked if he wanted to make any shoutouts about upcoming projects, ZexRow revealed that he didn’t have anything going on, but further shared his thoughts about the rest of the competition in the Fortnite tournament....
