Twitter’s “For You” algorithmic timeline is a controversial one, not least because the social network insists on forcing it on users every time they go near it. That’s all about to change, and it can’t happen soon enough. After rolling out the new “For You” timeline and making it the default earlier in January, Twitter now says that it’s going to undo part of that - and let us choose what feed we see each time we visit its website or open one of its mobile apps....

A surprise move from Ubisoft Massive today as studio head David Polfeldt will step down from his leadership role in July. The news comes courtesy of Axios Gaming’s Stephen Totilo thanks to an internal memo from Ubisoft’s head of studios Virginie Haas. In the memo, Haas reveals that Polfeldt informed management of his decision last fall, stating he was “ready for a new challenge.” Polfeldt officially leaves his position as Ubisoft Massive lead on July 1 with a six-month sabbatical....

Untitled Goose Game has once again proved to be a fan favorite with just about everyone. Just one month after winning several DICE awards like outstanding achievement and game of the year, it brought home Game of the Year at the Game Developer’s Choice Awards for 2020. Untitled Goose Game is the indie hit that no one saw coming. Made by the studio House House, the game has won numerous awards, sold more than one million copies, and became something of a cultural phenomenon....

A manga recently released in Japan that talks about the life of Satoshi Tajiri, the creator of the Pokémon franchise. A page from that manga was shown by James Turner (one of the designers who works for Game Freak on the Pokémon series) on his Twitter page that shows what appears to be scrapped designs from Pokémon that were intended to appear in Pokémon Red & Green. The manga is part of a larger series that details the lives of various celebrities and important figures in Japan....

The series is almost certainly the biggest in its genre, particularly given that Street Fighter IV returned its status as one of the biggest names in video games. We first heard word that Street Fighter V was on its way earlier this year, and that the game would be exclusive to the PlayStation 4. The Outer Worlds 2 has been announced at the Xbox and Bethesda E3 showcase. A new Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 map pack is almost here and with it comes a new trailer featuring The Replacers. The long journey of Black Adam to the big screen finally completed this year. Originally intended as the villain of Shazam! in earlier scripts for that DC movie, star and executive producer Dwayne Johnson asked WB to separate the two characters and grant them their own individual films. Like millions of other players in the bleak lockdown months of 2020, I found myself absolutely smitten with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The Vivo X90 series of phones is coming to at least one new country starting 31 of January, but there’s a catch that might be disappointing for some. The Vivo X90 series is already available in the company’s homeland of China and we’ve been expecting official confirmation that the company would bring the phone to new countries. There were already leaks pointing to 31 January, but now it’s been confirmed that Malaysia will be receiving the lineup at the end of the month....
