Biomutant is an in-development project with a lot of potential. The open-world action RPG is being made by young studio Experiment 101, headed by ex-Avalanche Studios game director Stefan Ljungvist. Originally speculated to launch in 2020, Biomutant now appears slated to launch in 2021. Yet it seems that before Biomutant’s release date arrives, it’s getting a lot of attention for an unfortunate reason. It appears scammers are trying to use anticipation for Biomutant to defraud some fans/media....

Nearly two decades after Angelina Jolie portrayed video game heroine Lara Croft in Paramount’s Tomb Raider film, Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander assumed the role in a reboot from MGM and Warner Bros. Pictures. While her take on Tomb Raider performed softer than expected at the U.S. box office, MGM moved forward with plans for a sequel that Vikander says she hopes to begin filming by 2021. MGM had scheduled the Tomb Raider sequel to be released on March 19, 2021, with hopes of beginning production in early 2020....

If Twitch is known for one thing, it’s suspending or banning big-named partnered streamers from its platform for a variety of questionable practices, controversies, or even without any publicly-known reason, like was the case with Dr. Disrespect for instance. The same rules apply to VTubers, and one of the most popular ones out there, Projekt Melody, seems to have been recently banned from the website. The information regarding Projekt Melody’s ban comes from a Twitter account called StreamerBans, in which it lists the most recent Twitch bans and provides a link to its own website that shows how many times an account was banned, how long the longest ban was, and how long ago the last ban happened....

In light of Alinity’s recent controversy, Twitch’s account suspension policy is once again at the forefront of many viewers’ minds. Inconsistencies and seemingly biased decision-making has led many to distrust Twitch’s judgement. Alinity has, in many ways, become a focal point for the perceived hypocrisy on the platform. Navigating the waters of Twitch drama will likely cause you to swim with a few sharks. Users on Twitter and Reddit who oppose Twitch’s moderation decisions on the basis of gender discrimination often undermine their own arguments with the use of misogynistic rhetoric....

Ubisoft may not be working on a new Splinter Cell game, say sources on the matter. The news will be incredibly disappointing to fans who had expected the reveal of a new Splinter Cell game to be one of the marquee announcements of the company’s E3 2019 press conference. In a new edition of the Splitscreen podcast, the famously well-informed journalist Jason Schreier revealed that everyone he has spoken to says that Ubisoft isn’t developing a new Splinter Cell....

Starting April 8, you can start directing traffic in the new VR exclusive game Traffic Jams. The game is set in a world without traffic lights, and the safety of the entire world is up to you. No pressure though. In June 2020, Vertigo Games (Arizona Sunshine) and Little Chicken Game Company announced Traffic Jams exclusively for VR. Oftentimes, VR games are single-player, since others can’t see what you are looking at....

As interesting as the “play as anyone” gimmick has been for Watch Dogs: Legion, the unfortunate byproduct of that system is the lack of a central protagonist to center the story on. Previous Watch Dogs games had central protagonists, and regardless of how successful they were from a design perspective, they at least contextualized the journey in a personable way. Watch Dogs: Legion’s narrative is based around a revolution, so the “play as anyone” mechanic works serviceably well in that regard, but as a result the narrative doesn’t have as much impact....

In summer 2017, THQ Nordic and new developer Experiment 101 revealed their open-world action-RPG Biomutant. Biomutant has existed for so long that most aren’t likely to remember all the promotion it has already received. Over the past four years, Biomutant had four sizzle trailers and four gameplay trailers....

At the beginning of the eighth console generation, plenty of gaming fans were excited of what the future held for games. Yesterday, Blizzard announced a change to Hearthstone that has massive implications for the game. The Basic and Classic card sets, which have been available since the game’s release in 2014, will be rotating to the evergreen Wild format. In their place, Blizzard is adding a new set of 235 cards called the Core set, which will be playable in Standard. The Core set will be freshly curated each year to contain a selection of cards from Hearthstone’s past, as well as a few new ones....

OnePlus already has a lot going on at its Cloud 11 event in India on 7 February, but we now look set to see the release of a tablet as well. While OnePlus was already expected to show off the OnePlus 11, OnePlus 11 R, and OnePlus Buds Pro 2 at the event the company has now added the OnePlus Pad to the list as well. As first reported by MySmartPrice, OnePlus will announce the tablet at the same Cloud 11 event that is already looking pretty stacked....

Today, the video game developer Telltale Games officially unveiled the forthcoming release of The Wolf Among Us Season 2, confirming fan speculation that the next run of content for the series was to be revealed soon after the studio offered up an announcement teaser regarding the title just a couple of days ago. As it so happens, the second season of the episodic and interactive fantasy/mystery game is currently slated to be released sometime in the “second half” of 2018....
