With the Xbox Series X currently being a lot more communicative about the release of the console and what players can expect from it, PlayStation has been receiving a lot of criticism as of late about its severely hands-off attitude toward marketing. Not only has the console manufacturer remained cryptically silent surrounding its plans for the PlayStation 5’s release, but its also not shown anything about the console or the games coming to it over recent months....

Valve is partnering with premier South American esports league Movistar Liga Pro Gaming to support the South American competitive Dota 2 scene. The partnership will see Valve contribute $45,000 USD in prize money across two upcoming Dota 2 tournaments put on by Movistar LPG. The region’s competitive scene has stalled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and this deal aims to help jumpstart competition in South America. Liga Pro Gaming has hosted twelve total competitive Dota 2 seasons since its 2018 launch....

The official Twitter account of Netflix series The Umbrella Academy recently posted a video listing every appearance of a “sparrow” symbol throughout the show’s 2nd season. The symbols apparently hinted at the season’s twist ending, and the number of symbols (43) is significant as well. However, most of them were incredibly well-hidden, sneakily giving fans even more reasons to rewatch the show. Clever. The same Twitter account announced the presence of the sparrow symbols on August 6th, a week after the premiere of season 2....

Ever since its open beta kicked off in 2013, War Thunder has offered fans of online military combat a fix beyond the likes of World of Tanks and World of Warships. Soon they will be able to take it into the next console generation, because it was announced that the game will be coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X next month. Developer Gaijin Entertainment confirmed this weekend that the game will receive native next-gen versions in mid-November, which will launch alongside its next major content update, known as New Power....

So remember last December when players were all making a mad dash towards the minigun Chopper right from the start of every Warzone match? Back then, it was due to a glitch that would render the player invisible and immune to bullets (but not gas, explosions, or getting run over by a truck) if they jumped from the chopper in just the right way. This resulted in Treyarch removing minigun choppers from the game temporarily until they could fix the glitch....

An interesting Call of Duty: Warzone leak has surfaced recently which adds to the idea that Zombies may be headed for Warzone. An impending Zombies based game mode has been requested by the game’s community for quite awhile, with leaks and hints slowly seeping into the discussion. While there has been no formal confirmation, fans are still hopeful at some battle royale undead fun. It would not be impossible to add Zombies into Warzone as fans have seen two great applications in Black Ops 4 for that exact concept....

World of Warcraft may not be a game known for its platforming mechanics, but that doesn’t mean the players aren’t still up to the challenge when it arises. The Legion expansion Kirin Tor quests require lots of platforming skills (which can be very frustrating) and when players run out of those, they can always come up with their own challenges. The latest World of Warcraft player created challenge involves making a ‘super hole in one’ leap off of one of the highest buildings in Dalaran....

As Destiny closes in on the end of its third year, players continue to find new and interesting ways to complete the game’s toughest challenges. Most recently, a group of Destiny players set a new time to beat for taking down Golgoroth, dispatching the King’s Fall raid boss in just 60 seconds. The feat is impressive and worth a watch. As the video below shows, the team worked together impressively to quickly kill the various enemies entering the room, before systematically dropping Golgoroth....

Video footage of the first half hour of Rise of the Tomb Raider surfaces, with pretty graphics, trigger-based action sequences, and spoilers abound. With Lara Croft set to make her return on Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles in just over two weeks, fans were treated to a 27 minute long gameplay video that details the very beginning stages of Rise of the Tomb Raider. The video represents a dizzying tour of the same ruins that were first previewed by the Rise of the Tomb Raider gameplay demo at Gamescom this past summer as well as some new, never before seen locales like a snowy mountain peak or the rain-drenched streets of London....

Its focus is the movie watching interaction which also comes with related interactions such as analyzing the movie. You can even make popcorn for the occasion with the new popcorn maker. This comic will be set in an ancient, Japanese-inspired world in which Geralt will be following after Lady of Snow Yuki Onna....

Excelsior! There’s a pretty awesome Stan Lee statue to be found in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and it even comes with its own trophy. Any open world game worth its salt will be jam-packed with fun easter eggs. Those surprises might be references to others living in the same universe, or perhaps other franchises entirely. Marvel games have the benefit of being able to reference decades of different characters and stories. Developers just need to be careful they don’t instill hope in players that some sort of major crossover is coming....

Skell is a name that may be familiar to Tom Clancy fans. Skell Technology is a company referenced by name in both Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and in late 2018, Tom Clancy fans discovered a Skell-related website with a “Civilian Drone Catalog” in-universe video hidden therein. The nature of that video has remained mysterious, but a new update to the Skell website may be leading fans to some answers and a new game announcement....

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4 is the finale to the Trails of Cold Steel saga of games developed by Nihon Falcom and published by NIS America. Though Trails of Cold Steel 4 is available now on PS4 in the West, NIS America also announced the game will be making its way to both Nintendo Switch and PC sometime in 2021. Now, it seems like players have a solid date for when these versions will release, thanks to some early promotional materials associated with the game in Japan....

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is getting its first new Zombies map next Thursday, February 4, and today, a trailer is dropping to show it off. However, it doesn’t end there as Treyarch has unveiled another three posters for the map. They are very comic-like, with the first showing the purple teleporter, the second showcasing the new mini boss, and the third featuring a jump-pad that looks right out of Ascension with somebody being hurled to their deaths....
