Recently, The Sims 4 team have released a new campaign for the popular franchise, titled Play With Life. They are encouraging players to share their stories and discuss what the game means to them. The campaign runs alongside a new rebrand for the game, which has seen their focus shift to try and attract new and younger players to The Sims. While many have praised the campaign, others have been critical, wondering why the moving video which accompanies it fails to feature anyone over the age of 25....

Polish developer CD Projekt Red made a name for themselves in 2007 after releasing The Witcher to mostly positive critical acclaim. Jonathan Blow announces that The Witness has already sold more than 100,000 copies in its first week, and it may be coming to the Xbox One in the near future. Blow made the announcement in a post entitled “Fun Sales Fakts” on the official The Witness blog, which is a reference to Thekla, the studio that helped Blow develop the game. According to Blow, The Witness has sold more than 100,000 copies across the PC and PS4 in the game’s first week, which has in turn helped it generate over $5 million in revenue....

The opening theme song for The World Ends With You: The Animation has been changed from “TEENAGE CITY RIOT” by ALI to “Calling - Animation OP Ver. -” by Leah, according to Kingdom Hearts Insider. The song change comes after Square Enix announced on the anime’s official website Thursday that its opening theme was going through a last-minute change before the show’s first airing due to the arrest of ALI drummer Kahadio, whose real name is Kadio Shirai....

Last weekend was Titanfall 2’s biggest in terms of peak player counts, and it was all thanks to Respawn giving people a whole weekend to try Titanfall 2 for free. Steamcharts reports more people were playing Titanfall 2 than when the game first arrived last summer, helping to bring about a sort of Titanfall renaissance five years after the game’s initial release. Titanfall’s newfound popularity has also helped convince speedrunners to dust off their jump kits and give Titanfall 2’s Gauntlet another, resulting in several broken world records....

Pokemon VGC has had many different formats in the past few years that come in a form of “series” for players to participate in. In the newest format, Series 8, there is a different set of rules for trainers to follow. The main rule is that every team can only use one restricted Pokemon, which are legendries. With this, there are many legendary and non-legendary Pokemon that are going to be very popular in the format due to their many uses....

Recently, Wargaming announced the inauguration of their new development studio in Vilnius, Lithuania. The World of Tanks Blitz developer will be setting up their main office in this newly opened studio, as they look to focus further on their flagship game. The Vilnius studio will primarily focus on progressing with World of Tanks Blitz development, as the game boasts over 140 million downloads on mobile devices around the world. This will be overlooked by the MS-1 team, who will be fixated on the mobile side of things - including World of Tanks Blitz, but also working on new mobile titles, with two announced ones on the way....

Call of Duty has always been a top-selling franchise, and this is partially thanks to the games having plenty of DLC and updates for the players. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to get its next big update on February 25, introducing new content for nearly every facet of the game. Fans of Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Warzone shouldn’t feel left out though, as there has been plenty of hinted content for the future of the incredibly popular battle royale game....
