As today is Father’s Day, I found myself reflecting on all the best video game dads. There have been a ton of good ones, with Kratos from God of War being a close second place for me. This week Rainbow Six Siege introduced the Y5S1.2 Patch. There’s nothing too exciting happening with this update, but several bugs have been fixed and numerous operators were tweaked for a more balanced gaming experience. For starters, the game now boots properly when manually selecting the Vulkan executable file in the Steam folder — an earlier bug caused the game to launch with DX11. There were also various cosmetic fixes including minor menu/shop adjustments, a weird lighting issue on the Consulate map, and the Dynamic Play button not updating properly....

OverActive Media, the Toronto-based company that owns Overwatch League’s Toronto Defiant, COD League’s Toronto Ultra, as well as the Spanish-based MAD Lions, just announced plans to make a brand venue in downtown Toronto. Dubbed as a “theatre-style entertainment venue and hotel complex,” the new facility is scheduled to be completed in 2025 and will carry a price tag of $500,000,000. “We are building a world-leading, 21st-century sports media and entertainment company and this best-in-class performance venue will be the chosen home for a new generation of fans that think differently about their entertainment choices and experiences,” said OverActive CEO Chris Overholt....

Creative Assembly releases a cinematic trailer for the forthcoming Total War: Warhammer, featuring the fearsome Orc Warboss known as Grimgor Ironhide. According to a preface at the beginning of today’s newly released video for Total War: Warhammer, the footage highlighting the Orc Warboss Grimgor Ironhide has been taken from an “in-game engine”, which means that it’s still being worked on, but even so, the textures and visuals look pretty wonderful thus far....

Transformers: Battlegrounds - from developer Coatsink and published by family-friendly publisher Outright Games - will be making its way to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC on October 23rd.
