Twitch’s director of creator development, Marcus “djWHEAT” Graham, weighs in on the controversy surrounding Twitch streamer Alinity. Alinity was accused of animal abuse after being seen on stream throwing her cat over her head. On Twitter, djWHEAT said that as a cat owner, he is “very upset” about Alinity’s stream. The Twitch director said that although he doesn’t have moderation powers, hypothetically he would ban Alinity from Twitch for 30 days, ask her to do an awareness stream that raises money for an animal abuse charity, and after her ban is over put her on 90-day probation....

In case you didn’t already know, Twitch appears to have an unofficial ranking of the best looking streamers. Representing the male competitors, being anything but humble, is TrainwrecksTV and Hasan Piker. However, The Witcher enthusiast and Geralt of Rivia himself, Henry Cavill has started to rock the boat without even having a Twitch account. Taking to Twitter to extend an invitation to the majestic superhero, Tyler Niknam (a.k.a. TrainwrecksTV) “welcomed” Cavill to Twitch....

My investment in the seasonal updates for Apex Legends is almost always determined by how much I’m smitten by the new hero. I’m absolutely a basic bitch - but if the new legend is a mixture of attractive, charming, and wisecracking then I’ll definitely be along for the ride. Valkyrie is all of those things, while also introducing a variety of new gameplay mechanics that could shake up the meta in ways that will force me to rethink how I use existing heroes....

The reveal of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide was a pleasant surprise for fans of the franchise. The success and overall high quality of Warhammer: Vermintide 2 by developer Fatshark should serve as an excellent indicator for what will lie ahead for the new game, but it also forces a question about how long a developer and consumer may expect support and new content to be released post-launch. It’s been four long years, but Gara is finally getting her prime version. Not that she needed it, what with Gara being one of the most broken Warframes in the game thanks to her infinite scaling damage over an extremely wide area. That said, in a game about making ever more impressive numbers, a few extra bits of health, shields, and energy never hurt. Gara Prime arrives as Warframe’s next Primed frame starting on May 25....

Warframe’s Sisters of Parvos update is finally here, bringing Yareli, new weapons, and a bunch more to the space-ninja simulator. The free content is available on all platforms, and it should give both new and experienced players alike plenty of reasons to jump back into Warframe. Sisters of Parvos’ big draw is Yareli – a new aquatic Frame that uses the power of the ocean to obliterate her foes. You’ll also find a new Corpus Lich System with new weapon rewards, along with a Parazon rework, melee weapon rebalance, and a whole lot more....

In a surprise twist on what we expect from publishers and developers of triple-A games, BioWare announced not long after the release of Mass Effect 3 that they would directly address some of the game’s negative feedback by releasing free single-player DLC to expand and flesh out the game’s conclusion. Despite highly favorable reviews, some of the critical response - including in our own ME3 review - called out the game’s ending as a letdown....

Until now, Bethesda has been among the most predictable RPG studios. Focusing exclusively on developing the Fallout and Elder Scrolls franchise for years, both in their iconic first-person format, it has often been easy to predict the developer’s next moves compared to other studios. All that, however, has changed over the last few years. As gaming enters the next generation of consoles, Bethesda is undergoing a significant change as well. This has left the fate of Fallout 5 in particular in question....

If we didn’t know any better given the leaked image revealing something called Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix, we’d say Ubisoft has a few leaks in their studio. Although the image spotted online seems to reveal a currently-unannounced project in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, there’s no further information on what it could mean. But given the logos seen in the Rising Phoenix screenshot, we’d bet that those die-hard Assassin’s Creed fans will have more than enough to go on in spinning some crazy theories....

Pokemon Trading Card Game players are getting a new expansion come March 19, 2021, with the upcoming Sword and Shield Battle Styles. While new expansions are to always be expected, this upcoming one will be introducing a brand new mechanic to the classic trading card game. The new Pokemon TCG set’s main appeal is the Battle Styles that also make up the set’s name. These Battle Styles change up how players make their Pokemon battle with the cards included in the new booster packs....

HBO’s glossy six part drama The Undoing has come to a close providing answers to some burning questions, not least of which is who killed Elena Alves (Matilda De Angelis). The show closed with quite the bang though, raising other issues that had been playing out in the background throughout the series. The Undoing was created by David E Kelley and is loosely based on the 2014 novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz – Susanne Bier is the series director....

It’s hard to talk about massive dark fantasy epics without mentioning the absolute brilliance of The Witcher. Andrzej Sapkowski’s brainchild enraptured fans from all over the globe with its amazing world, well-developed characters, and a truly scintillating story that grabs a reader’s attention hook, line, and sinker. It’s no wonder that this brilliant world provided CD Projekt Red with a great base to kickstart what is easily one of the greatest video game trilogies of all time — largely due to the excellent quality of the final game....

This past year should be considered weirder than most, especially for gamers. With an abundance of great games came an equal amount of disappointing and crappy ones. Add in micro-transactions, loot crates, greedy executives, poorly written stories, along with cash-grabbing motives and 2017 can only be best described as chaotic. One of the biggest disappointments of the year, but not bad enough to make this list, was that of Destiny 2: Curse Of Osiris....
