The Sandman author Neil Gaiman has famously fought off numerous attempts to adapt his most famous graphic novel series, but in Netflix’s TUDUM event, a sneak peek clip and some character art for a few of the most recognizable characters give fans a glimpse of the vision the author finally brought to life along with executive producer David Goyer. The first look at Dream, Death, and Desire illustrate the conceptual personifications that Gaiman became known for even in later works like American Gods....

Sega is reportedly developing a live-action version of its Yakuza video game franchise with 1212 Entertainment and Wild Sheep Content. The film, which will be produced by Erik Barmack, Roberto Grande and Joshua Long, doesn’t have a script yet. Yakuza, which was first released on PlayStation 2 in 2005, is Sega’s bestselling franchise after Sonic The Hedgehog. The game has spawned seven main title sequels and eight spin-off titles on all major gaming platforms....

It’s not even been two weeks since we last reported on an astronomical figure being paid for a Pokémon card but it has only gone and been done again, this time setting a new record at approximately $230,000! Pokémon is big money right now, and I’m not talking for Nintendo here, but for card collectors. Based on a novel by Michael Koryta, Those Who Wish Me Dead is the second feature film directed by Taylor Sheridan, the writer and actor whose previous writing and directorial effort was Wind River with Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen. Sheridan has also penned acclaimed screenplays for both Sicario films and Hell or High Water, in addition to co-creating and writing the TV series Yellowstone. Those Who Wish Me Dead shares several common elements with all of these works, in that it is largely set in a vast rural area of the United States–in this case Montana–and it loosely follows the structure of a classic Western updated for the modern era....

Last year, it became apparent that retail giant Toys R Us was in trouble. The company has been struggling with nearly $5 billion in debt, which forced it to file for bankruptcy in 2017. The next step for Toys R Us is to close down 182 stores across the United States, with the shutdowns to begin in early February and continue until April of this year. Closing down these 182 stores will reduce the number of Toys R Us locations by about 20 percent....

What may be the last ever piece of additional content for the Uncharted series is growing ever closer to its release, with the upcoming Uncharted: The Lost Legacy basing its adventure around series regular Chloe Frazer – pairing her up with former Uncharted 4 antagonist Nadine Ross. While it was clear from the initial trailer that this adventure wouldn’t base itself around series protagonist Nathan Drake, it was only confirmed today that the popular adventurer wouldn’t appear via cameo in the standalone story....

Dog petting is very serious business within the gaming world with a Twitter account even dedicated to measuring a game’s animal petting functionality. With even unreleased games embracing dog petting, now the onus is on players to utilize the ability. Unfortunately it seems that in Supergiant Games’ recently released Hades, its good boys are being ignored. The Can You Pet The Dog Twitter account shared an interesting finding through Steam achievements with regards to Hades player’s behavior....

Die by the Blade has reached its kickstarter funding goal and fans are now taking the project into its many stretch goals. The game promises a unique take on the fighting game genre, pitting players against each other in one on one combat where even the slightest mistake can spell death. This is done with the pivotal feature of one hit kills during battles. Unlike in other fighting games where characters wail on each other endlessly with weapons that should kill in a single hit, Kickstarter project Die by the Blade takes things more literally....

One of the best aspects of Valorant, the new and popular first-person shooter for PC, is the unique abilities that each character possesses. The Agents’ abilities are what set Valorant apart from CS:GO, a game it is often compared to. The balanced gameplay, thanks to unique movesets for each Agent, has created a wonderful experience. Bloodhunt, a brand-new Battle Royale from Sharkmob set within the same universe as Vampire: The Masquerade, has kicked off its first Closed Alpha this week. Along with that, the developer has updated the PC system requirements that players will need to enjoy the game and it turns out these new requirements are fairly challenging for a free-to-play game. I’m a pretty easy-to-please gal. Shoehorn a romance into a game, even if it has no business being there, and you’ll probably get me to play. My fondness for romance stories is why I’ve played countless visual novels and bought every iteration of Story of Seasons or Harvest Moon. I love falling in love. When it comes to the monster taming genre, Pokemon seems to have a monopoly in terms of player base, something that should be expected considering the series will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2021. That being said, Pokemon isn’t the only monster taming game out there worth playing, especially if you weren’t happy with how Sword & Shield turned out. While we wait for the inevitable Sinnoh remakes or Let’s Go Johto games, there are plenty of other games that allow you to tame and battle with various monsters found around the world, some better than others, that can fill the need for a good monster taming game before the next Pokemon release....
