No Time to Die was supposed to be one of 2020’s biggest movies. It was meant to be Daniel Craig’s swan song as agent 007, its projected billion dollar earnings for MGM were set to make the year for the studio and had things gone as planned there would probably be a new face tied to the name James Bond. Well, fate and COVID-19 won’t be letting the MGM lion roar anytime soon, so with almost 5 months to go until No Time to Die has a chance of gracing movie theaters all over the world, it’s probably a good idea to line up a team of other spies that may take 007’s place for the time being....

Warren Spector joins the development team for System Shock 3. The highly revered director will be helping Otherside Entertainment reboot the franchise. It was only two months ago that System Shock 3 was revealed to be in development by Otherside Entertainment, who set up a mysterious countdown website to build up hype for the occasion. Now, the studio has confirmed that Warren Spector himself has joined the development team for System Shock 3, a move that is sure to entice fans of the original game....

It’s only been available for a few days, but players have already found a game-breaking exploit in Call of Duty: Warzone. Apparently, teammates could continually revive their fallen allies inside the gas ring long enough to win an entire match. Infinity Ward has responded quickly, however, issuing a playlist update that has taken care of the issue. The Capture is fundamentally a show about screens. The cartoon-styled dungeon crawling series Torchlight is being resurrected in the form of Torchlight Frontiers, a continuation of the series which takes place in the same world as Torchlight and Torchlight II. While the original development studio, Runic Games, is no more, Echtra Studios is helming the development of Torchlight Frontiers. The development of Torchlight Frontiers is being led by former Runic Games and Blizzard North co-founder, Max Schaefer. According to the press release from Perfect World, the team consists of many veteran developers that worked on games that redefined the action role-playing genre, like Diablo and the previous installments in the Torchlight series....

This past July, Byron “Reckful” Bernstein, a world-famous video game streamer and professional World of Warcraft player, passed away at age 31. At the time, it was implied by Bernstein’s loved ones that he had taken his own life, and now that’s been confirmed by the Travis County medical examiner. Officially, Reckful’s cause of death is suicide. As reported by TMZ, the medical examiner’s report notes that Bernstein was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency responders failed to resuscitate him....

Historically speaking, gaming television channels haven’t really done that great in terms of viewership. Minecraft is top-selling game of all-time, and now that its creator, Notch, is outbidding Jay-Z on millionaire homes and Telltale is producing a story-based experience within the block-based world, it seems like the title itself is also due for an update - though not the kind fans were expecting. An oft-requested Minecraft feature has been for the simple ability for players to change their in-game names, which have always been locked to their formal account name....

Fans of indie gaming on PC are no doubt already aware of Steam Greenlight, which allows Steam users to vote for the video game titles that they want to see available to buy through the Steam store. Since the program’s launch on August 30th 2012, 260 titles have received the green light from Valve, and now the company is celebrating a successful first year. If you failed to spend your fill during the Steam summer sale then get over to the Greenlight Sale, which is ongoing between now and September 2nd, 10AM PDT....

A couple of months ago, Gabe Newell said that Valve would start making games again, and true to that promise, the publisher is now hiring people to work on “top secret” new games. What those top secret games could be remains to be seen, but it does seem that at least some will be narrative-driven experiences in the vein of Half-Life or Portal. This is because Valve is hiring a level designer who is able to build a 3D game world and create “cinematic sequences of gameplay....
