Path of Exile is going strong this week as players are one month into the three-month league, Delirium. Delirium has introduced a new mechanic where each area has a mirror of Delirium, passing through this mirror introduces a fog to the world that as you explore leads to increasingly stronger enemies with increasingly better rewards. There’s still a lot of time left in the league for players to dive in and gather unique items like the armor set of Madness, various Orbs for crafting, and a number of Jewels that provide helpful effects and stat boosts....

After initially struggling to find its footing in the west, Sega has turned things around in recent years with the Yakuza series. With the latest entry to the series around the corner from its release, Xbox has chosen to make three of the games in the series free for the weekend for Xbox Live Gold members. The latest series entry, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, is set to release as an Xbox Series X/S launch title, so the timing of this opportunity is likely anything but coincidental....

Electronic Arts has confirmed there’s currently no plans to let you turn off bots in Battlefield 2042’s All-Out Warfare game mode. The company will be backfilling servers with AI rivals to keep the matches populated with a full 128 players at calm playtimes. Battlefield 2042 devs were pretty clear from the start that its 128-player lobbies will always be filled with AI bots. Yet DICE remains silent about whether or not players will be able to completely turn off the bots from the match if they wish....

Just a couple of days ago, an entity claiming to represent the Recording Industry Association of America filed a massive amount of copyright claims against Twitch streamers. This deluge of claims is forcing many streamers to go through their clip backlogs and prune them down. As reported by Kotaku, many streamers have received one or more copyright strikes for their content in a massive wave of DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act) claims over old VODs and clips, 60-second bits of memorable stream footage, such as of Josh Hart smashing his keyboard....

Ubisoft has just announced a new game and IP in Riders Republic, a massively multiplayer online extreme sports game that sees you biking, skiing, boarding, and gliding along with dozens of other players. It’s out on February 25th, 2021. The trailer opens with dozens of mountain bikers heading downhill, eventually adding skiers, snowboarders, and gliders to the pack before arriving at Riders Republic. If the trailers are anything to go by, it looks like the game will feature some healthy character customization, with plenty of wacky costumes making their appearances....

The Settlers, a city-builder from Ubisoft has been hit with a delay that hopefully won’t become a cancelation. The game was set to follow the Settlers after they were forced to leave their homelands after a devastating earthquake. They then set sail into the unknown in search of new land to call home. In a message to fans, Blue Byte said, “Since quality is our main priority, we want to take the time necessary to make it right....

Improvements to VALORANT’s hit registration might be coming in the near future. While most patches for Valorant have been fairly well-received, Riot Games has struggled to solve many players’ issues with what can only be described as inconsistent gameplay. The developers have acknowledged these problems, as well as a handful of others, in this week’s Ask VALORANT. In games like Valorant, where precision is the key to success, game mechanics and gameplay need to feel tight and responsive in order for players to enjoy playing or feel a sense of accomplishment....

For many gamers, it has proven to be incredibly difficult to obtain either a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X in the month since the two next-gen consoles launched. Not only has the usual paradigm of supply and demand made availability scarce, but scalpers have been using bots to snatch up stock once it becomes available and then reselling consoles at three or four times the retail price. Barring luck and good timing, it’s nearly impossible for a human being to place an online order faster than a bot, and many disappointed consumers have questioned why retailers didn’t have anti-bot protections in place in preparation for what turned out to be PlayStation’s biggest console launch in history....
