Game Rant recently conducted an interview with Amber Howard, the new Head of Talent at TalentX Gaming (TXG), a collaboration between esports leader ReKTGlobal and TalentX Entertainment. Howard has been influential in launching and maintaining the careers of many successful content creators and esports figures following her extensive experience in talent management at both the NFL and Machinima. Our conversation ranged from the industry-wide effects of the Mixer shutdown to the importance of diversity in gaming, but the bulk of our time was spent discussing what makes a good content creator, and how esports pros achieve success....

Valorant, Riot Games’ competitive team-based first-person shooter, is a striking success. The game launched in early June and was immediately picked up by players of all experience levels looking for an alternative to Counter-Strike, Overwatch, Fortnite, and other popular shooters. But that doesn’t mean Valorant is perfect. A key example is the game’s ranked mode, which while workable, could be improved dramatically. Cyberpunk 2077’s combat has been a point of contention for a while now. There’s a new Warhammer real-time strategy game under development from the makers of Elite Dangerous. Frontier Developments, makers of Elite Dangerous, have officially acquired the license to Warhammer Age of Sigmar. The company will use that exclusive license to make an RTS game based on the Age of Sigmar setting. Warhammer Age of Sigmar replaced classic Warhammer (sometimes known as Warhammer Fantasy Battle) back in 2015 as a more simplified and streamlined tabletop wargaming experience....

Someone managed to get six minutes worth of footage of Square Enix’s upcoming Avengers game, footage that was supposed to remain behind the closed doors of SDCC. The original plan was reportedly to have it be an exclusive treat for all of the Marvel Gaming panel attendees, with a public reveal set for sometime next month. A fan with a phone had different ideas. The video is weirdly-angled and partially cut off, as you’d expect a sneaky recording to be, but it gives us a showing of Thor, Iron Man, and Hulk in action....

Insomniac Games releases a video showcasing the first 20 minutes of the Ratchet and Clank remake, ahead of the game’s release on Tuesday, April 12. The Ratchet and Clank series is one of the most beloved from the PS2 and PS3 eras of gaming, delivering memorable characters and a fantastic world alongside fun platforming gameplay. Because of this, fans of the franchise were extremely pleased to learn that the first game in the series was getting a remake for the PS4....

The Durrr Burger fast food joint is one of the most well-known locations on the Fortnite map. The restaurant’s mascot - a burger with a face that has its tongue out - is so popular that developer Epic Games even added a line of Durrr Burger-themed cosmetics to the game. But while most fans seem to be on good terms with Durrr Burger, real-life fast food chain Wendy’s is trying to start up a rivalry....

Denys Cowan’s comics career spans decades. Perhaps most famous for his work on mainline DC characters like Batman and his “mature readers” take on The Question with Denny O’Neil, Cowan is also one of the architects of Milestone Media, the trailblazing company that grew out of the classic ‘90s comics publisher, Milestone Comics. While the original run of Milestone only lasted a few years, it spawned a beloved animated series (Static Shock), and is now a key imprint at DC Comics, who have recently revived much of the key characters and titles for new tales for a modern audience....

The Simpsons is celebrating yet another birthday. The first non-Christmas episode of The Simpsons, “Bart the Genius,” first premiered on Fox on January 14, 1990. The series had already run their Christmas special, “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire” but this was their first non-holiday themed episode, and the show jumps right into their skewered reality and social commentary. The chalkboard gag has Bart endlessly writing “I will not waste chalk” as punishment, probably, for something equally ironic....

Well known modder Kawaii Stacie, known for her Slice of Life and Explore mods, has created a new mod that helps players recreate an Animal Crossing: New Horizons experience in The Sims 4. It comprises a unique aspiration that helps guide players through an experience mirroring that of playing New Horizons. There are also some challenge rules on her website, to help you make the experience more authentic. If you’re craving an Animal Crossingadventure but don’t have a Switch or simply want to combine two of your favorite games, then this is the mod for you....

The Sims is an incredibly popular but polarising game series. Never has a simulation franchise been so inconsistent and yet so appealing. This is evident in the latest installment, The Sims 4. Although it received mixed reviews upon release, it earned the title of best-selling PC game for two consecutive years (2014 and 2015). This series started off in 2000 and immediately garnered critical acclaim for its original design and addictive gameplay....

June is pride month and The Sims team have always been huge advocates for diversity and inclusion. This month they are bringing the pride celebrations into our homes with a Virtual Pride Parade, hosted by LGBTQ+ YouTuber and Twitch Streamer, EnglishSimmer. How many crime-fighting superhero families can the world of The Umbrella Academy accommodate? Well, guess we’ll find out soon. For those of you who don’t recall (which is totally fair, given that July 31, 2020 was approximately 179 years ago), the conclusion of The Umbrella Academy season 2 introduced a second Umbrella-style superhero team: The Sparrow Academy. After saving the world in 1960s Dallas, the Hargreeves’ children returned home to their Umbrella Academy mansion only to find that it was occupied by a different “Academy”, this one calling themselves The Sparrows....

Quirky doesn’t begin to describe Night City. For Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red crafted a colorful metropolis with a vast array of bizarre activities which top even the fantastical exploits of their earlier Witcher series. While some of these encounters occur within the story, V deals with most of them during the various side quests. The weirdness can come out in personal favors for friends, or it might unfold when the player aids some random guy on the street....

There are probably not a lot of gamers out there playing The Witcher 3 right now, unless they are diehard fans, as the game released quite a few years back. But if you’ve been aching for a bit more adventure in the world of monsters and men, or you somehow missed out on this incredible title, now would be an opportune time to continue your travels with Geralt of Rivia on PC....

What the hell happened? I feel like I just opened my eyes and a whole year whizzed past. 2020 has been incredibly eventful, but as I usually judge the passage of time by how many Nintendo Direct presentations we’ve had, this year has felt like too much, too fast. And now, here we are, standing at the precipice of the end of the world, and it’s time to take a brief look back at what the very best games of 2020 were....
