Twitch viewers around the world are going to start getting more bang for their buck when they subscribe to their favorite streamers. Starting on May 20, Twitch will begin to adjust subscription prices based on the country viewers live in so that they’re more in line with the local cost of living. According to the streaming service’s blog post published on Monday, Twitch’s new subscription pricing program stems from the fact that there’s a severely low percentage of viewers supporting content creators with paid subscriptions outside of North America....

Ubisoft Connect’s new chat app and overlay will encrypt user conversations, delete conversations after three months, and offer features such as blocking users, reporting users, and creating large group chats. Ubisoft Connect operates as an online profile system, reward system, and connection point for Ubisoft games. Riot Games has revealed that VALORANT will be getting a public test server, similar to League of Legends’ Public Beta Environment (PBE), sometime next year. The information was revealed by VALORANT’s senior release manager, Corrie Hardin, in Riot’s latest “Ask VALORANT” blog post. Hardin confirmed the addition of a test server can be expected “some time in the first half of 2021.” The tenth “Ask VALORANT” blog post was released yesterday, where various members of the development team answered questions from players regarding weekly challenges, smurfs, and a potential future test server....

Gamers and indie developers have taken to social media to express their anger and disbelief at Valve’s proposed new Steam Direct process of vetting games. It hasn’t taken long for opposition to form against Valve’s decision to do away with Steam Greenlight, replacing voting on which games are to be available on the digital storefront with a system where developers need to pay a recurring, recoupable fee every time they submit a game....

Inxile Entertainment, the Microsoft first-party development studio behind 2020’s squad-based role-playing game Wasteland 3, has had a productive past few months. First, its post-apocalyptic isometric RPG passed the notable milestone of reaching one million players. Then the title earned a Game Awards 2020 nomination for Best Role Playing Game. And the company’s 20-player virtual reality game, Frostpoint VR, launched in December. Now Inxile seems to be ramping up its team for development of the “wonderful new” RPG the company’s CEO Brian Fargo tweeted about back in September 2020....

The Grand Theft Auto modding community has brought us a great many things over the years. Using Grand Theft Auto 4 as its base, modders have been able to do everything from recreate Watch Dogs to parody Flappy Bird. And while we’re still waiting to see what modders can do with Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC, some console gamers have already started the ball rolling. Special Defense is a stat in the Pokemon games that concerns a Pokemon’s ability to take less damage from special attacking moves. Ever since the franchise’s physical-special split in Generation IV, the stat doesn’t just help with certain types; it solely depends on a Pokemon’s Special Attack and moves. Speaking of which, how do the individual types fare in that regard? The type charts are not totally balanced, so you may end up with types that happen to be better in certain stats than others....

The new game pack for The Sims 4, Journey To Batuu, is the most contentious DLC for The Sims 4 to date. Geralt can not only look for Ciri, but also take on contracts for killing beasts, play Gwent, travel around a lot, and romance multiple characters....

There’s nothing worse than throwing on the wildly acclaimed game only to find that it’s either too confusing or maybe too hard. CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3 is no Dark Souls or Cuphead, but the learning curve is quite steep when compared to contemporary games. Not only that, but its also packed with its fair share of difficult quests. Whether that be taking on enemies that you’re severely under equipped for or taking ones that compare to the tutorial bosses in Dark Souls or Ninja Gaiden....

Geralt’s search for Ciri throughout the main story of The Witcher 3 will take you into many different lands, including the free city of Novigrad. This large metropolis is basically run by a criminal underground, and Geralt will need to get tangled up with those criminals to learn what happened to Ciri while she was there. This includes a main quest called ‘Get Junior’, which takes him through the underbelly of the city and into the home of a truly deranged man, concluding with a moral choice being placed on the player....

Amidst the new quests, armor, and other free DLCs CD Projekt RED has released for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the developer has also rolled out several updates that address many issues player have faced since May - including small text, an XP bug, and numerous game breaking bugs related to story quests. The amount of patches issued over the last couple of months would usually be seen as a problem - since more than a few games have released in less-than-ideal states....

The Metroid franchise is a fantastic series of games that took sci-fi gaming to a whole new level. Players loved fighting the various aliens, exploring strange worlds, and figuring out puzzles of ancient and extinct races. The games only got cooler when Metroid Prime brought everything into the 3D world, and it was truly an experience for the gamer. Metroid was also amazing for having the protagonist be a woman. Samus Aran is known for being one of the toughest heroes of the Nintendo games....
