Stop-motion animator Jeremy Borchers has recreated a pivotal scene from the murder mystery Knives Out in LEGO form, and it works surprisingly well. Transforming the rather famous “eat sh*t” scene with toys made primarily for children certainly provides for some amusing juxtaposition, but the effort behind the animation alone is arguably the most noteworthy aspect. Borchers (Joebor1777 on YouTube) runs a channel where he reconstructs scenes and trailers using LEGO, alongside his own original animations....

It’s been quite the week for Simmers. We’ve seen the results of the final vote for The Sims 4 community stuff pack and now know the name and icon that will be used. There have also been rumors about upcoming content, a community survey, and one Game Changer lived up to the name by celebrating their graduation and raising a huge amount of money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Over the last six months, the second community voted Stuff Pack has been taking shape....

ThunderCats is, to mix my animal metaphors, an odd duck. I’ve read the surprisingly extensive series bible, and never have I seen such an exhaustive outline of a fictional world and its denizens brought to life in such a sloppy, haphazard way. These folks had 65 episodes to build a rich fantasy world, and in the end that overall mythology ends up remaining fairly shallow. It’s a good thing the characters were so memorable and their adventures were so entertaining....

Almost exactly one year ago, on March 18, 2020, Twitch streamer Kaceytron was banned indefinitely from the streaming platform after making a joke about the coronavirus pandemic that was deemed to be in poor taste. Stating that the world would be a better place without old and poor people, the content creator joked that she would leave lockdown and try to spread the virus as much as possible. Whether Kaceytron deserved a ban for making the joke is up for debate, but in the end it didn’t matter....

Ubisoft has declared that its looter shooter, The Division 2, is the biggest hit across the gaming world so far this year. The company recently released its earnings report for the first quarter of the fiscal year - April-June, 2019 - which shows that it achieved more than it set out to in terms of overall targets. The Division 2 is reported as being one of the biggest sale drivers....

Recently, YouTube star PewDiePie found himself in the center of yet another controversy when he told his millions of subscribers to visit a smaller channel that has hosted some anti-Semitic content. PewDiePie later edited the video to remove mention of this channel, and claims that he was unaware that it hosted that kind of content along with the Death Note review he recommended. Even so, this incident resulted in Dianna Lora of Massive Entertainment and a developer for The Division 2 to criticize PewDiePie on Twitter....

Players that are subscribed to EA Access will be able to play the upcoming UFC 4 days before the game releases to the public. This early access also comes with some incentives for players, including exclusive challenges that reward in-game currency for the full game release. UFC 4 is the latest in Ultimate Fighting Championship games from EA, and is scheduled to release on August 14, less than a week away....

Next week’s Fall Guys patch will have “lots of things” that players have been asking for, including no more uneven team games. Team matches suck. Not just because you suddenly have to rely on other players when most of Fall Guys is an everyone-for-themselves-free-for-all, but because I somehow always find myself on either the team with the least amount of players (and is at an inherent disadvantage) or the Yellow Team....

Valorant’s official closed beta is ongoing, approaching a full week of availability. That makes it all the more impressive, and disappointing, that Valorant already has cheaters. Riot Games has already talked about its “fog of war” system in Valorant, meant to withhold data that cheaters could potentially use maliciously. Cheaters, unfortunately, always find a way, however. The good news is that Riot is aware and aggressively banning cheaters, even catching one while they were live streaming....

Avid video games critic and YouTube personality John “Totalbiscuit” Bain has passed away yesterday after a 4-year long battle with cancer. Bain’s wife, Genna Bain, has posted his passing on Twitter, and many of Bain’s fans and game developers all over the world are paying their respects for the much-loved game critic on Twitter and on YouTube. Bain grew to prominence for his matter-of-fact reviewing style and the exposure he gave to lesser-known games....

Game Rant recently had a chance to talk with Walter Tischkewitz, co-founder of Semiwork, the studio working on Voidigo. It is a roguelite dungeon crawler with a basic premise that should be familiar by now. However, the game stands out because of its vibrant color scheme, vivid animations, and gameplay elements inspired by Monster Hunter. It’s an interesting combination, and we wanted to ask Tischkewitz, one of the game’s primary creators, how Voidigo’s unique blend of style and substance came about....

Though video game developers are often tight lipped about their upcoming projects, there are a few places where information has to be made available to the public. One such place is in job listings, and Warner Bros has posted a few intriguing ones recently that point towards a new secret project being undertaken by the developer. Over the course of February 11th and February 12th, at least 12 new job listings were posted on Warner Bros Games San Diego’s career page, each containing references to the mysterious upcoming game....

Along with exciting game reveals, the company has announced the date that fans can expect to see the new Watch Dogs Legion on their own console. Since E3 was canceled due to the coronavirus, many new game reveals have happened through online live streams. The Ubisoft Forward is one such event, and many fans are excited to see the updates the company is showcasing on the stream....

Now we have a good idea of just how much money Epic Games is offering developers to be an exclusive title in their store. Epic Games has been making waves ever since they introduced their own digital distribution platform late last year. Suddenly there was a massive company that might break the stranglehold that Steam has on the PC gaming market. Not only that, they offered game developers a better deal: just a 12% take of the profits instead of Steam’s hefty 30%....

It was an exciting week for Battlefield fans. After being delayed last fall, Battlefield Hardline launched on Tuesday to decent reviews from both critics and players. Mortal Kombat fans also had something to celebrate when NetherRealm Studios revealed that Predator will be making an appearance in Mortal Kombat X. Halo fans received a little teaser this week in the form of a countdown timer that ends tomorrow at 9 PM EDT....

The 1980s was a golden era for animation on TV. It was the decade of Thundercats, Inspector Gadget, Transformers, Ducktales, The Smurfs, He-Man and The Masters of the Universe, Care Bears, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Yet arguably the era’s greatest cartoon came in the form of The Real Ghostbusters. The show arrived at a time when animated spin-offs based on popular blockbuster movie properties were everywhere in the world of television with companies eager to translate box office gold into something palatable to younger audiences....

The upcoming Resident Evil movie now has an official release date. Announced in 2020 by Constantin Films and Sony Pictures, the movie aims to be true to Capcom’s classic survival horror games. At the time, writer-director Johannes Roberts promised an original adaptation keeping in mind the first two games in the series, with the storyline set in 1998 on a fateful night in the fictional town of Raccoon City. Fans will get to see Kaya Scodelario of The Maze Runner fame play Claire Redfield, Robbie Amell from the TV series Upload as Chris Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen from Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp as Jill Valentine, and Avan Jogia from Zombieland: Double Tap as Leon S....

Each year, the World Photography Organisation celebrates the very best images and photographers on the planet with the Sony World Photography Awards. Now the shortlisted photographers in the Student and Youth competitions of the awards are being shown off. This is before the final announcement of the winners at the exhibition at Somerset House, London in April. The Student competition shortlist includes the work of 10 students from leading institutions from around the world....

Task Force X is back for another deadly mission in The Suicide Squad. Under the auspices of Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, a team of mainly C-list DC villains, led by Idris Elba’s Bloodsport and Margot Robbie’s endlessly charming Harley Quinn, will once again face insurmountable odds, which include plenty of explosions, dismemberments, and even a classic Justice League villain. Described as a “war caper film” by Gunn, the director’s take on DC’s zaniest misfits and outcasts retains much of the gritty tone of David Ayer’s 2016 entry while also introducing the comedic timing that has become a signature of Gunn’s directorial style....
