Tom Holland may be best known for his role as Peter Parker in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man franchise, but he once had his eyes on another Disney film series. Holland recently revealed that he auditioned for a role in Star Wars, but didn’t get the part because he couldn’t stop laughing. During an interview with Backstage, Holland explained that he was “four of five auditions in” for the role of ex-stormtrooper Finn in the first of Disney’s Star Wars sequel trilogy, The Force Awakens....

Destiny: The Taken King has been generally well received, regarded by some to be “a whole different game” than Destiny in Year One. The Quest system, the King’s Fall raid, and the retweaked Iron Banner PvP event have given players reason to pour hundreds of additional hours into the game. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t things that need fixing in Destiny’s Year Two. Back in the early days of the Xbox 360 one of my personal favorite features was the Netflix party viewing room. Twitch has announced a number of initiatives to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, which honors the “histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.” However, after Twitch added emotes, including a sombrero, a pair of maracas, and mariachi instruments, the video live streaming service received significant backlash for perpetuating stereotypes and promptly removed them. The League of Legends Championship Series made its return on Friday with the debut of Friday Night League, and Twitter made it clear that they are not fans of the new broadcast direction. Criticism of the LCS broadcast is nothing new. Compared to its European counterpart, the League of Legends European Championship, the LCS broadcast lacks in creativity and identity. The Netflix of gaming, Xbox Game Pass, seems to be growing in value with every passing day, and the subscription has just got an enormous boost in its value with the completion of the Xbox Bethesda deal. As a means of celebration, Xbox Game Pass is receiving 20 Bethesda titles this week and a future promise of day-1 access to games like The Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield. Rumor has it that multiple Ubisoft-published games would be added to the service later this year....

Following in the footsteps of Devolver Digital’s unique E3 substitute yesterday, Ubisoft has taken to the internet to give fans a close look at its upcoming innovations through “Ubisoft Forward.” Viewers with a Ubisoft account were originally promised a free download of the company’s game Watch Dogs 2, but after surprise server issues, the title will be made available for download to everyone, regardless of Ubisoft account. The Ubisoft Forward, or “UbiForward,” presentation, which began streaming on Ubisoft’s site at 11 AM PDT, has given gamers an in-depth sneak peek at the company’s works-in-progress....

Ubisoft has been building up the release of Watch Dogs: Legion for awhile now. Along with Ubisoft’s other titles, Legion will have a next gen update. That’s good, because unlike those titles, it looks like current gen may not be enough to handle its power. The official scheduled release for Watch Dogs: Legion is tomorrow, but reviewers have already gotten their hands on copies. These reviewers have had plenty of time to get through the game and write up reviews, but until recently, a review embargo was in place....

The original Star Wars: Battlefront from 2004 is a classic among Star Wars fans, which is why there was considerable excitement when it was announced that DICE was rebooting the series. Those disappointed by DICE’s Star Wars: Battlefront games, due to the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 loot box controversy or whatever other reason, will be happy to know that it’s now much easier to play the original game online. The previously Oculus Rift exclusive Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series is finally coming to consoles. Announced this morning on the PlayStation Blog, both Sony and developer ILMxLAB have confirmed that the premiere Star Wars VR experience will be playable on PSVR sometime this summer. Comprised of three different episodes, it seems like the whole shebang will be brought over to the PS4 at once. The different chapters, which run about an hour each, form a small story that sees the player traveling into a Sith fortress to do battle with the iconic Darth Vader....
