As a platform, virtual reality continues to make strides, even as the next generation of consoles stay at the forefront of most consumers’ minds. Oculus, in particular, has seen exceptional growth in a short amount of time, in large part due to the impact that the 2020 lockdown had on the gaming industry as a whole with more players spending their time gaming. However, the platform, in general, is just in a better place than it used to be thanks to advances in technology, availability, a steadfast developer community, and a respectable amount of consumer interest in the platform....

The holiday season has begun and with it came the launches of both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S. But while some video game fans are able to skip Black Friday and the holiday shopping crush, having their pre-orders already fulfilled earlier in November, many are still refreshing Walmart and other retailers hoping for more stock. The first two episodes of WandaVision have just premiered on Disney Plus, the first show in a series of Marvel Disney Plus originals featuring characters from the MCU. WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda (Scarlet Witch) and Paul Bettany as Vision living in a world that resembles classic TV sitcoms. Wanda’s powers and Vision’s robot self cause some wacky hijinks in their normal sitcom neighborhood, but it’s clear things aren’t as ideal as they seem....

Nine times out of ten, if you type in your login info and get the “Login Failed - Check Your Info” message, you just mistyped your email or password. But every so often you’ll type in everything correctly at the login screen and still get met with this infuriating message keep you from playing your beloved Warframe. It’s a bug. Specifically, a networking issue between you and Warframe’s servers. It’s rare, but it pops up from time to time for Tenno who live in Europe or Asia, mostly....

To borrow a line from another game franchise, “War. War never changes.” Apparently, neither does Warzone’s infinite stim glitch. Just a couple of days ago, Raven Software released a hotfix that was meant, in part, to get rid of the infinite stim glitch once and for all. However, there are multiple reports that the glitch still has not been vanquished—and players continue losing to people hiding in the gas. On Wednesday, Warzone received a hotfix that nerfed the DMR and several other weapons....

In Wasteland 3, the Gippers are a faction of cultists in the ruins of Denver, notable for their monopoly on oil and their fanatical worship of an AI of Ronald Reagan and the giant laser-shooting statue it controls. They also have access to a powerful weapon that is essentially a mini-version of robo-Reagan’s laser eyes, which they will give you if you help them out. The laser rocket Reagan’s Gaze can be won by siding with the Gippers during the Reagan Reborn quest....

FromSoftware’s Dark Souls is one of the most unforgiving franchises in existence, and its aesthetic has even spawned its own genre. Despite having official sequels of its own, another fan-made successor was built to pick up where the first game ended, and we can now watch the first 18 minutes of the ambitious mod. Uploaded to the mod’s official YouTube account, the prologue of Dark Souls: Nightfall promises a unique continuation of the story from a talented team....

Watch Dogs: Legion Bloodline has a somewhat random and creepy easter egg that references Hideo Kojima’s Silent Hills demo, PT. There are some mild spoilers to follow. The easter egg comes out of nowhere during a late-game mission in the DLC, called “Bury Your Dead”. The mission features Aiden Pearce’s nephew, Jackson Pearce, diving into Aiden’s mind to help him recover from an injury. At a certain point in the mission, Jackson will be sent through a haunted mansion that represents Aiden Pearce’s psyche and how he hasn’t dealt with the death of Lena before the original Watch Dogs....

Dragon Age 4 will take players to Tevinter as they battle the rising forces of the Dread Wolf, who wants to tear down the Veil between Thedas and the magical realm of the Fade. The new chapter in the fantasy franchise promises to have a protagonist who breaks the mold of some of Dragon Age’s previous player characters, while exploring a region of Thedas that has featured heavily in the lore but has yet to be seen in the games....

Now that Fallout 76’s debacle has been thoroughly aired out, Bethesda designer, director and producer Todd Howard now reflects on the misfire positively. While the RPG prequel doesn’t quite hit the marks of its predecessors, Howard stated that the experience “made [Bethesda] better developers”. Speaking to James Batchelor from GameIndustry.biz, Todd Howard sat down for an in-depth interview during the Develop: Brighton Digital 2020 conference. Bethesda’s success was highlighted in The Elder Scrolls franchise, which Howard showed interest in replicating some time in the future....

What’s left to be said about Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2? It is great on PS4. It is great on PS5. And now – despite the physical and technical limitations of the console – it’s pretty dang good on the Nintendo Switch as well. Every fiber of my being says that the team behind the THPS franchise is doing everything they can to get the game into the hands of new and old players alike, which hopefully means an eventual remake and release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 – the best game in the entire series....

An upcoming Transformers movie will not be another installment in the live-action Micheal Bay series. Instead, it will be a new animated title produced by Paramount Pictures and Hasbro’s eOne entertainment studio. The film will reportedly be a prequel, one that takes place on Cybertron instead of Earth. It will still see Optimus Prime as the main character, however, and will revolve around his relationship with his arch-nemesis, Megatron. Paramount and Hasbro have hired Josh Cooley to helm the project as its director....

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War game mode Fireteam Dirty Bomb has been steadily gaining in popularity, which makes the rise of a new bug tied to the mode particularly frustrating. Fortunately, Treyarch has assured Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans that a fix is on the way. Fireteam Dirty Bomb is Treyarch’s answer to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Ground War, with the mode boasting the interesting premise of pitting 10 squads of four players against each other....
