In late January 2021, Judge Thomas Zilly of the Western District of Washington began to hear the case against Valve, brought by plaintiff Ironburg Inventions for infringing their patent on rear-facing buttons on a game controller. The verdict for the case, the first ever patent jury trial to be heard remotely due to coronavirus restrictions, was handed down on February 1. Despite Valve’s insistence that it had not infringed on any patents or intellectual property, the jury decided otherwise and ordered the company to pay $4 million in damages to Ironburg....

Fandom Tabletop and Mattel have partnered to bring us the power of the Legends of Grayskull: The Masters of the Universe Roleplaying Game. The recent announcement was made during PowerCon 2020 and on the Fandom.com website. The Legends of Grayskull RPG is currently scheduled to ship sometime in 2021. Mattel has licensed Fandom Tabletop to produce the Legends of Grayskull RPG as part of its mission to reboot the Masters of the Universe (MOTU) franchise....

Polish artist Jakub Rozalski, also known as Mr Werewolf, has a brilliant talent for reimagining early decades of the 1900s with steampunk stylings. This week in Warframe, we learn more about the Glassmaker, Deadlock Protocol, and a new Warframe called Protea. Last week, we found out that the impossible had finally happened. Nightwave: Intermission II will finally come to an end on May 3. Nightwave Season 3 will begin sometime after that, or perhaps immediately on May 3–Digital Extremes still hasn’t told us one way or the other. What we do know is that it’s coming and it will be a little different from previous Nightwave seasons....

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is the most RPG-like Borderlands game yet, which means that deciding which character class to play as in the looter shooter is just a little bit harder (and more important) than it’s ever been before. While it’s certainly possible to enjoy and beat Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands regardless of which class you pick at the start of the game, it’s pretty clear that the developers intended for each class to offer a fairly unique experience....

There is very little more powerful than nostalgia, and that is made clear by the newly announced Titanic: The Game. Created by Spin Master Games, this board game will feature players taking control of the movie’s iconic characters to try and evacuate as many passengers off the Titanic as possible before it sinks. Although Titanic came out 23 years ago now, Spin Master Games seems to think it’s still marketable, and it’s probably right about that....
