Nowadays, video games have formed one of the biggest entertainment industries in the world, easily rivaling music and film. Thanks to this, most games—with a reasonable budget, of course—tend to support a multitude of languages all over the world. And the localizations are usually spot-on; the developers won’t hear the end of it if they translate something incorrectly. But this was not always the case. In the previous decades, when video games were still a burgeoning industry, localization was either hit or miss....

The events of Avengers: Endgame sure took Thor on a journey. Holding himself responsible for the catastrophic ending to Avengers: Infinity War, and still reeling from the catastrophic events of Thor: Ragnarok, the God of Thunder took it upon himself to behead Thanos in Endgame‘s opening moments. And when the death of the MCU’s most powerful villain failed to make things better, Thor slipped into a deep depression, retreating into isolation, video games, and comfort eating (something we all can relate to after a year of lockdown, right?...

Marvel sure took their sweet time, but we finally have a Thor: Love and Thunder teaser trailer. It was absolutely worth the wait. Taika Waititi’s long awaited sequel to Thor: Ragnarok (the movie which landed at #1 on our comprehensive ranking of the MCU movies) is a brightly-colored blast of good vibes, Marvel Comics Easter eggs and references, and callbacks to Thor’s earlier adventures. There’s plenty of humor, even more cosmic scope, and barely a hint of the terrifying villain waiting in the wings for our heroes....

While there are some concerns that the United States government might ban TikTok, the social media app has not slowed down. TikTok has become one of the top social media apps in the entire world, with millions of people joining in on its “trends,” creating similar videos that all use the same sound or theme. One of the latest TikTok trends has some users scratching their heads, though, and it all revolves around the mysterious date of August 27....

In a saddening, but unsurprising announcement earlier this year, the physical Tokyo Game Show was canceled. A virtual event was known to still be possible, and was confirmed later on by TGS. Despite being held online, several aspects of the Game Show remain unchanged or only changed slightly. The online Tokyo Game Show will be held on its own website, which will act as a central hub much like the building that would house the actual show....

I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster with the latest Transformers movie news. The headlines made it sound like all my dreams were finally coming true. A live-action Beast Wars movie? Yes, please. Over the years, the worlds of theme park rides and video games have joined up numerous times. Although often it has come in the form of virtual theme parks for players to either build or explore, with examples such as the Theme Park and Rollercoaster Tycoon franchises or upcoming horror game The Park, sometimes the relationship goes the other way. The Uncharted series is easily one of the greatest franchises in history, with the fourth installment considered as the best PS4 exclusive yet. While it falls under the action-adventure genre, there are many supernatural elements involved in the series. Since this is the video game world, a lot of stuff can be accepted as necessary for gameplay to progress. A pair of developers from Supermassive Games take part in a Reddit Ask Me Anything, debunking rumors of Until Dawn DLC while also teasing the potential sequel. Yesterday, rumors were swirling about a DLC expansion for Until Dawn called Rush of Blood. The DLC was said to be an on-rails VR shooter that would utilize Sony’s PlayStation VR headset, and would be available at some point in 2016. An on-rails shooter would be an extreme departure from the core Until Dawn experience, and so the rumor was a little hard to believe, to say the least....

While Valheim is not a story-driven game, there is still a lot of history and lore in the world for players who wish to look for it. In each of the biomes are several Rune Stones, each carved with lore pertaining to the Valheim Biome in which they are found. And the Swamp biome has some of the saddest of the lore. Riot Games has launched VALORANT patch 1.11 again in the Americas after rolling it back last week. The update brings in Skye, the game’s newest playable agent, along with a number of additional character updates. Some changes for Initiators Breach and Skye, as well as Sentinels Killjoy and Cypher, have been included in the patch. Initiator agent Breach received a slight flash buff in the initial patch, increasing his full flash time from 1....

A Valorant player is able to get themselves an incredibly sneaky kill using one of the game’s weirdest features. The Valorant closed beta has been available for a few weeks but players keep discovering new and unexpected ways to take down opponents. One of the most popular posts on the Valorant Reddit today is a video of a player being taken out by Sova’s Shock Bolt ability. In the video, the player makes their way to the enemy spike and begins to disable it....

While previous trailers for Disney+’s first Marvel series, WandaVision, have been expectedly cryptic, they have also made one thing very clear: this won’t be your typical Marvel outing. All first looks at the show have revealed that much of it will be paying homage to classic sitcoms like The Dick Van Dyke Show, Roseanne, and more. Now the show’s unusual approach has been confirmed in a sprawling EW feature. According to EW’s reporting, WandaVision isn’t just a take on sitcoms, it basically is one (with some Marvel twists thrown in of course)....

Though Warhammer 40,000 is a game with an immense amount of lore that includes everything from inter-dimensional daemons to a wide assortment of alien species, no figure is as central to the game’s lore than the Emperor of Mankind. Though he now exists a semi-living comatose skeleton atop a golden throne, he was once considered one of the most powerful beings in the universe. Similarly, many of the other most powerful beings in Warhammer are his artificial sons, the Primarchs....

Oh, to imagine what could’ve been. On one side, there’s Warren Spector, the legendary producer and game designer who contributed to Wing Commander, Thief: The Dark Project, and a murderer’s row of popular tabletop RPGs, before going on to create the action-RPG hybrid, Deus Ex. On the other, there’s Valve, the studio responsible for Steam, Portal, and Left 4 Dead. And they would’ve worked together, if Mickey Mouse hadn’t gotten in the way....

The Warzone community is anxiously awaiting more news on the new Warzone map. Leaks suggest that the map will be located in the Ural Mountains, and include the fireteam dirty bomb maps from Cold War. The new map will have far more wilderness areas, and include only small buildings. The lack of large structures should encourage fast-paced gameplay. Players have been begging for a new map for months, and Rebirth Island was not the answer....
