Call of Duty: Warzone has a new bug that many streamers, fans, and YouTubers are declaring “game-breaking.” This new glitch affects the textures of certain weapons and object models giving them appearances and strange shapes. The Warzone glitch is costing tons of different players matches, and in some cases, they have become so bad that spectating a match becomes impossible. Warzone streamer CouRage came across an extremely bad case of the glitch after dropping back into a match....

A video surfaces online that shows what Bungie’s popular shooter Destiny would look like if it had 60 frames per second instead of the 30 FPS it currently uses. Destiny is a wildly popular game, smashing sales records, earning $500 million on day one, and continuing to be popular with the gaming community thanks to regular content updates and expansions. However, there are still many ways Destiny can improve. For example, there are those that think 60 frames per second should be the standard for modern first-person shooters, but Destiny runs at 30 FPS across all consoles....

Yesterday was a pretty good day for Mass Effect 3. BioWare hosted a panel at PAX East, answering some questions, dodging a few others, and there was some great cosplay and some even greater announcements. Topping off a news week where BioWare unveiled their plans for Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut, cinematic DLC that fleshes out the game’s controversial and unsatisfactory ending, they also announced free multiplayer DLC with the Resurgence Pack....

The SQL standard lays down a regular method for accessing the data catalog known as the information schema, though not all databases use this. They may implement other features of the SQL standard. Update:Croteam has confirmed Developer that The Serious Sam Collection will be appearing on PS4 and Xbox One the same day as its Switch release. In a surprise announcement this morning, Devolver Digital revealed that the Serious Sam Collection would be heading to Switch very soon…like, next week soon. On November 17, 2020, Switch owners will be able to experience Serious Sam: The First Encounter, The Second Encounter, and 3: BFE from the comfort of their toilets and other fine porcelain seating arrangements they may have laying around....

The Simpsons will air its 700th episode this weekend, and while I know many Simpsons fans have long since abandoned it - many even refuse to acknowledge its existence beyond season ten or so - I have always stuck with it. I have a lot of thoughts on why it has endured, but I’m more interested right now in why, for some people, it hasn’t. “It’s not as good as it used to be!...

It was only a little over a month ago that EA Games announced an exciting expansion pack for The Sims, which lets players actually follow their Sims to work for a few select career paths, or even start their own business. Oldschool fans of The Sims may be getting a sense of deja vu, but that’s because the second iteration of The Sims had a similar expansion pack. Thankfully, Get To Work does offer some new perspectives to make the latest expansion unique....

Reports of the Suicide Squad’s demise appear to have been greatly exaggerated. Less than half a year after James Gunn’s gnarly The Suicide Squad reboot went largely overlooked at the box office in August, the first spinoff from that series, the John Cena-starring Peacemaker, is doing very well on HBO Max according to Gunn. And perhaps to prove his point, the eclectic filmmaker has revealed that he and HBO Max are considering doing another series connected to the Suicide Squad world....

In the summer of 1973, the cast and crew of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre were suffering through what was, by most accounts, a thoroughly miserable shoot. The heat and humidity were almost unbearable. The interior location where much of the film’s third act took place, an old farmhouse outside Round Rock, was dressed with animal bones and blood, which had begun to stink in the broiling Texas air. The stench was so bad that some crewmembers were throwing up outside between takes....

The universe of The Witcher game series is a rich and exciting world, full of detailed locations and intriguing characters. The book series that the games are based on, The Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski, has provided the foundation of one of the most critically acclaimed video game franchises in recent memory. But as with any adaptation, some material is always lost in the process. Sapkowski’s books are full of characters that the player never meets in CD Projekt Red’s Witcher games, whether due to artistic license or the timeline of the stories....

Most humans despise Witchers and some of them are even foolish enough to cross blades with them too. In these situations, a Witcher must instead rely on their steel sword - which is far better equipped for the soft and tender flesh of men....

The Witcher 3 offers a massive open-world setting brimming with things to do and places to visit. It’s an easy world to get lost in, even while exploring some of the main story’s missions. During that story, players will be tasked with figuring out where Uma is in the Ugly Baby quest, and it can take a bit of work to locate him. Uma is “the Ugliest Man Alive,” afflicted by a curse that gives him such a horrific and twisted appearance....

Bart is a rock troll Geralt encounters during the quest, Count Reuven’s Treasure, and he is one of my absolute favorite characters from The Witcher 3. To be fair, I’m a huge fan of all the trolls Geralt comes across throughout his adventures. I love that he can conciliate them rather than view them as a typical monster threat. Part of what makes trolls so great is their toddler-like communication skills and understanding of the world....

In celebration of Arkane Studios’ 20th Anniversary, Bethesda is giving away their very first game, Arx Fatalis, for a limited time. Arx Fatalis is a 2011 first-person fantasy game that takes place in a subterranean world. As a precursor to both Dishonored and Prey, Arx Fatalis uses open-ended gameplay that allows the player to use the environment to outwit enemies. The game was well-received despite low sales and eventually led to a partnership between Arkane and Valve with a Half-Life 2 spin-off project called Ravenholm, as detailed in the newest Noclip documentary about the history of Arkane Studios....

A Titanfall 2 gamer posts a video showing his impressive Gauntlet tutorial speedrun, which he clears in 20.6 seconds, a record that could stand for weeks and months to come. There’s something compelling about completing video games quickly. In fact, there’s a whole community built around speedrunning both new and past games. Some gamers spend their lives trying to shave off a few seconds or milliseconds from their fastest time in an effort to set world records or personal bests....

Developer BioWare’s ongoing effort to improve the experience in its loot-based shooter Anthem has hit a new milestone thanks to the release of today’s Anthem update. However, the intent of the update and what has actually changed are not pleasing players, who are noting a dramatic decrease in the quality of Anthem loot. To recap, today saw the launch of Anthem update 1.0.4, which was supposed to boost loot drops for Grandmaster 1 difficulty and “Apex creatures,” among dozens of other changes....

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most highly anticipated games of the current console generation. The RPG from CD Projekt Red promises a massive game world to explore without immersion-breaking load times, a host of dangerous monsters to defeat, and even an ending to Geralt’s story. As such, fans of the series cannot wait until the game’s May 19 release date. Some gamers are therefore extremely thankful for those retailers who started selling The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt a week earlier than anticipated....

Ubisoft has experienced a mishap recently concerning in-game achievements, as the PC version of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was noticeably missing the important feature at launch. Ubisoft has since addressed the matter, and confirmed that the error was “unintended." During some changes to its online services - launching Ubisoft Connect and Ubisoft+ - Ubisoft also released Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on PC without any standalone achievements. As you can imagine, PC players who were excited to delve into viking territory quickly realized that the game was missing an “Achievements” section....

“Microtransactions” is a dirty word in the gaming community, but that hasn’t prevented some major AAA titles from implementing them. Of course, for the most part, gamers don’t mind microtransactions for cosmetic-only items, but there is a line that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 seemingly crosses. Although players have the ability to grind for some of these items, which is still a grind despite updating the tier-gain speed, unlocking every base tier item and the ridiculous amounts of randomized items could potentially cost up to $3,500, according to some estimates....
