In these uncertain times, everyone could use a good distraction. Purchasing a new game is a good option, but what’s even better than that is a free new game and it just so happens Ubisoft is giving away one of its titles right now. Tom Clancy’s The Division is currently free to UPlay members on PC, but only for a limited time. The official Ubisoft Uplay Twitter made the announcement today, alerting gamers of the small window to claim The Division for free....

As lockdowns continue across the globe, more parents than ever are having to homeschool their children. While schools are providing resources in many cases, they aren’t always engaging, and kids will often get bored. It can be argued that the only thing they find duller than sitting in a classroom is sitting at home looking at their classroom on a screen. There’s no sneaky conversation, no note passing, and you can’t even pull cheeky faces at your friends when the teacher’s not looking....

Street Fighter fans, we’ve got some gameplay footage for the next set of upcoming DLC characters, including Rose, Oro, and Akira. We’ll get Akira Kazama out of the way first since she’s the furthest from actually releasing. Originally a character from Rival Schools, a Capcom fighting series from the ’90s where rival high schools engaged in brutal physical combat, Akira will feature aerial combos and long-reaching kicks. She’s currently in development and doesn’t have a release date yet....

Fans of the original Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines were likely shocked when the announcement of a sequel arrived 15 years later. Now, those same fans have a new reason to be excited, as Hardsuit Labs is now teasing the return of a familiar face from the original title. Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines launched for the PC back in 2004, and struggled to find its footing. Although the game ultimately found a cult fanbase, the myriad of bugs and glitches present in the original release left it with less than critical acclaim and ultimately, poor sales....

With Darksiders 2’s release right around the corner, gamers will finally get to see a new perspective on the events featured in Vigil Games’ first title, from the point of view of War’s brother Death. But even getting to see Death’s side of the events isn’t going to be enough, players still, after completing Darksiders 2, will be looking for Vigil to put out at least two more games, starring the final two horseman of the apocalypse....

The classic era of The Simpsons might be gone, but there are pieces of it that exist in a video game that many fans might not know exists. This is especially true for fans of Troy McClue, who you may remember as being one of the best characters on the show, as he was voiced in a cameo in The Simpsons: Virtual Springfield. Virtual Springfield was a PC game released in ‘97 that allowed players to explore the titular town and interact with the residents....

More often than not, when games with microtransactions feature a new item or system that requires a ton of grinding for the player, it ends up being dubbed a cash-grab. People argue that the developer will have made that feature so difficult or time-consuming so that people will have to pay for it. In this vein, “grindy” features plus impatience equals profit, right? Wrong, according to Warframe developer Digital Extremes, which suggests grind-heavy items sometimes even make less money than those that aren’t....

Ubisoft announced yet another delay for anticipated Watch Dogs: Legion online mode on PC. The team encountered a new bug that causes multiplayer to crash on certain gaming configurations and is already working on the solution. Watch Dogs: Legion multiplayer was originally planned for a December 3 release with several delays followed by both PC and console versions. Initially, the team decided to fix issues with the single-player campaign before releasing new content....

Divinity: Original Sin 2 includes an option to create a character; however, it also allows the player to select one of six Origin Characters as their main protagonist. Though up to three others can be added to the party later, the starting character drives much of the game and can have a huge impact on the story. Selecting an Origin Character provides unique spells and access to lore—however, choosing which one to start with can be tricky....

When there’s casting news about an upcoming superhero movie, the hoped response is something along the lines of a fist pump and some level of, “Hey, awesome!” You’re always going to hit on a character somebody’s interested in. Peacemaker, the HBO Max series spun off from James Gunn’s DC film The Suicide Squad, asks one very important question right from the top. “Do ya really wanna, do ya really wanna taste it?” Well…do ya?!?!? Following a funny cold open that picks up right after the events of The Suicide Squad and finds John Cena’s titular antihero convalescing in and then absconding from a hospital, Peacemaker launches into one of the most unabashedly fun opening credits sequences on television in years....

Before the latest console generation kicked off, we heard loads of technical nonsense about teraflops, triangles, and teradons, but none of it seemed to make much tangible sense. In fact, that third one is made up, and you probably didn’t even notice. We were fed so many details about the giant leap that this new generation was going to give us, but I wasn’t all that convinced. I know it’s still early days in the era of PS5 and Xbox Series X, and I will admit that haptic feedback and DualSense upgrades have been more noticeable than I thought they might be, but for the most part, it just feels like a slightly faster toy than the old one....

Featuring an insane series of events, Joe Exotic has become a household name overnight thanks to the show, which has prompted many to recreate the Tiger King in different creative mediums. Using the create feature on Sims 4, one player recreated a few people from the show with amazing detail....

It’s a great time for reboots. She-Ra and the Princesses of Power showed how an 80s cartoon could be reinvigorated to something both familiar and different, and it’s not like it was the first, following on from the earlier success of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It’s not just them either; Animaniacs has come back, and Teen Titans found new life (and a movie) in Teen Titans Go. With all these cartoons reaching new audiences now is the time to give Captain Planet and the Planeteers its own reboot....

Time travel lost its novelty as a movie storytelling device a long time ago. Yet, while sci-fi action-adventure romp The Tomorrow War doesn’t exactly wield the trope in any way that feels new, it does use time travel as an effective way to metaphorically magnify the familial drama at the heart of the story. Chris Pratt anchors the movie as Dan Forester, a military vet who’s settled into a quaint, somewhat unfulfilling suburban life with his wife Emmy (Betty Gilpin) and young daughter Muri (Ryan Kiera Armstrong)....

While The Untamed is filled with myriad delights, much of the onus of carrying the 50-episode story arc falls on the soldiers of Xiao, who is more than up for the task. The 29-year-old actor— whose name popped up in international news when a part of the actor’s massive fandom was potentially involved in the events that led to fanfiction website Archive of Our Own getting blocked in China—is asked to carry viewers through the utterly confusing first string of episodes and then into a 30-episode flashback more or less on the strength of his on-screen charisma....

Even though the first The Witcher 3 DLC Hearts of Stone isn’t as long as the second one, it still offers plenty of challenge to the players. The main storyline forces Geralt to make morally difficult decisions more than once. He also has to take on multiple strong bosses to solve the problem. And if he decides to do so, he can end up fighting an actual devil - or something very similar....
