The project, which aims to recreate both multiplayer and single-player content from the first three games in the series, is still tentatively on-track for a partial launch in late 2017. Ubisoft has decided to delete lines recorded by Helen Lewis, a staff writer for The Atlantic, from Watch Dogs Legion after it was revealed that the UK journalist had “made controversial remarks” in past articles. Lewis, who plays a character named Helen on two episodes of the game’s in-world podcast, is part of a discussion on fascism in Watch Dogs. Although Ubisoft has not confirmed which remarks it was referring to, it is believed that Lewis statements were transphobic in nature....

Many Ubisoft games feature microtransactions and DLC, such as the recently released Assassin’s Creed Origins. And while some fans are frustrated with the way that microtransactions are included in its games, new data suggests that the company is unlikely to change things soon. That’s because Ubisoft just makes too much money from microtransactions and DLC. According to the company’s latest financial report, Ubisoft now makes more money from “player recurring investment,” which includes DLC, microtransactions, and loot boxes, than it does from digital game sales....

While developer WayForward is known for its long-running Shantae series and various licensed games for properties like Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time and Universal’s The Mummy, it also does work as a publisher for other indie developers. Today, WayForward announced it will be publishing Dawn of the Monsters, a co-op beat ’em up starring kaiju in the vein of popular monsters like Godzilla. Dawn of the Monsters is being created by 13AM Games, also responsible for the racing platformer Runbow (which received Shantae as a DLC character in 2016) and last year’s similarly-styled action-platformer Double Cross....

Pokemon Snap has always seemed like the most sensible Pokemon game to me. I know the fact that these cute creatures just scurrying about in the world requires some suspension of disbelief, but I can get on board with the idea of Pokemon easily enough. The Sinking City, an action-adventure game inspired by the works of horror author H. P. Lovecraft, was released for Microsoft Windows, PS4 and Xbox One in June 2019, and for Nintendo Switch in September of the same hear. However, the game suddenly vanished from most storefronts this past summer as a result of a legal dispute between publisher Nacon and developer Frogwares.
