If you’ve been wandering around Shogun Studios in Paper Mario: The Origami King, you may have come across an area called the House of Riddles. Despite the name, the House of Riddles actually contains more of a traditional puzzle than a riddle. Whatever you want to call it, solving this riddle can be more than a little confusing and difficult if you don’t know what to do. If you’ve been stuck on solving it, or don’t even know how to get inside the House of Riddles yet, we’ve got all the answers you need right here. That even includes the reward for solving this puzzle, which is one you definitely won’t want to miss out on!

Getting To The House Of Riddles

Before you can even attempt to solve the House of Riddles, you’ll have to know where it is, and how to get in first. In the Shogun Studios, you can find the house of riddles in the upper right corner near the Dress-Up Photo Studio, or number 5 on the map above. Once you find it, though, you’ll notice that the door is locked. In order to even get in you’ll have to first go to the House of Tricky Ninjas in the bottom right, or number 7 on the map. Once you make it through the trials that await you there, you’ll come away with the Master Key. Use this to unlock the door and finally enter the House of Riddles.

House Of Riddles Puzzle Solution

The basic premise of the riddle, or puzzle, in the House of Riddles is to examine two nearly identical rooms and rearrange the items in them so that they mirror each other. The game doesn’t spell this out for you, which is why it is somewhat of a riddle. It does give you a hint, though, with the top line of text being mirrored on the bottom of the sign.

Unlike other puzzles, this one is a bit more open. As long as the two rooms are arranged the same, but flipped, it will count. There are three parts of each room you can interact with, those being the pillows on the floor, the set of drawers, and the sliding doors.

Starting with the pillows, you’ll want to change the colors so they’re in the opposite order as the other room. For example, if the room on the left has the pillows as them arranged green, green, purple from left to right, then the right room should have them go purple, green, green from left to right.

Looking at the drawers, all you need to worry about is whether the top drawer is open or closed.

The sliding doors are just as easy. If you make sure the handles match being on the inside or outside, you’ll have it solved.

House of Riddles Reward

After the rooms have been arranged to mirror each other, the center wall will open up to let you access a chest. Open it up and collect your Max Up Heart. This boosts your HP by 5, and increases your attack power on top of that. Certainly well worth the effort of solving a not too difficult riddle!
