Paul Haddad, the actor who voiced Leon Kennedy in the original Resident Evil 2, Uncle Arthur in Babar, and several other projects over the past decades, has passed away on April 15 at the age of 56. Haddad has previously stated that he was suffering from stage three throat cancer with a tumor on his vocal cords.

Outside of the iconic role played in Resident Evil 2, Haddad mostly worked in film and television, with some acting but most often lending his voice to animated characters. Apart from appearing for 39 episodes in Babar from 1989 to 1991, he also appeared as various voices in the television show The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 in 1990. During 1992-1996, he voices certain powerful mutants in the animated show, X-Men, including Quicksilver, Arkon, Kiyoek, and others.

Before passing away, Haddad worked on one other video game voice over known as Daymare 1998. Interestingly, this is a game currently available on Steam from Invader Studios that embodies everything about the classic Resident Evil series and voicing a main character in this game feels like a great send off.
