The Outer Worlds was Obsidian’s stand out RPG about corrupt corporations in a distant solar system. The player could play through the game in any way they wanted. They could persuade their way past combat or sit back and let their companions do everything.
That means there are a few missable trophies depending on the way they play. The game is relatively easy but there are some difficult trophies for those trophy hunters out there. Many of them require tons of grinding while others require a specific set of choices. Thanks to psnprofiles for some tips.
10 Peace In Our Time
This trophy requires brokering peace between Stellar Bay and the Iconoclasts. The player must always side with Zora instead of Graham. This means always agreeing with her in arguments against Graham, getting food and supplies, and saving the missing squad. Basically, when doing a quest with the Iconoclasts, complete Zora’s objective instead of Graham’s.
After this, complete the “Sucker Bait” quest, which requires the player to kill Graham. Now, the player must convince Sanjar of Stellar Bay to agree to a truce with the Iconoclasts. This option will come up in dialogue where you proceed to say Zora is in charge now. In order to further convince Sanjar, the player will go on a quest to get her review data. Lastly, the player needs to tell Zora to work with Sanjar, which requires inspiration or persuasion of 55.
9 Elemental Maelstorm
Elemental Maelstorm requires the player to inflict every elemental damage type to an enemy and then kill said enemy. Pick four weapons that have an extremely low damage output and apply a mod to each one, but only one element per weapon.
Find another low damage weapon and don’t put a mod on it. Now the player should have a physical, N ray, shock, plasma, and corrosive weapon. Lastly, find a strong enemy (such as a Mantiqueen) and attack the poor creature with all these weapons before killing it.
8 Never Seen
This trophy is difficult because stealth in The Outer Worlds is not its best quality. “Never Seen” requires a lot of grinding. The easiest way to do this is with the “Slaughterhouse Clive” quest.
Simply, get 20 points in stealth, go into the facility the quest will lead you too, save the game, then stealth kill all of the pigs. Reload the save, then kill more pigs.
7 Well Dressed
The objective for this trophy (wear a “nice hat” and a “chimaera” together) is simple but the process is a pain. To get a chimaera, the player must complete the “Makes Space Suit, Won’t Travel” quest. Completing this quest requires killing a Marauder and stealing their clothes, buying Spacer gear from the Groundbreaker, and buying Iconoclast gear at Amber Heights.
The last objective for this quest simply has the player killing a number of creatures and looting their dead bodies. Lastly, a nice hat can be found outside of Stellar Bay in a church. Once the player has the necessary clothing, equip them to get the trophy.
6 Ludwig Was Right
“Ludwig Is Right” will require a whole playthrough to get. It also can’t be done if the player completes the “Mightier Than The Sword” trophy. Multiple playthroughs are a requirement for the platinum.
In order to get this trophy, the player must redirect power to Edgewater, make the deserters return to Edgewater. Then, the player must leave Reed in charge, only to inform on Phineas, and then go back to Edgewater to kill Reed. Doing all of this will unlock “The Foundation” quest, which needs to be completed to get the trophy.
5 Health Insurance
This is another trophy that’s easy but requires a lot of work. All the player has to do is use the medical inhaler 300 times. The grind makes this tedious in spite of the simplicity of the task.
Simply put on a podcast or music and get to inhaling. Luckily, the player gets a head start by naturally healing throughout a playthrough.
4 Jack Of All Trades
The description of this trophy is enough to scare anyone off. Simply kill an enemy with a sneak attack with a science weapon via critical hit during Tactical Time Dilation. There is a quest to find all the science weapons, which can be started after completing “Stranger In A Strange Land.”
Simply read the computer terminal in The Unreliable. After finding a science weapon, the player must upgrade it substantially since they are all weak at the base level. When the player has the necessary equipment, sneak up on a low-level enemy, slow down time, and strike.
3 Mightier Than The Sword
This trophy is the exact opposite of “Ludwig Was Right.” Just like the beginning of that quest, the player must divert power to Edgewater, have the Deserters return, and keep Reed in charge.
Next up, the player must turn Phineas in, like in “Ludwig Was Right. However, afterward, the player must then send either the non-corrupted or corrupted signal. Now, Sophia, adjutant of Halycon, will have a conversation with the Stranger about Edgewater later in the game. This will cause the trophy to pop up.
2 Sunburn
“Sunburn” is a highly missable trophy that may require another playthrough. To get it, the player must fly The Hope into the sun, rather than Terra-2.
The only way to do this is to be dumb, which means, during character creation, players must create a dumb character. Another, quicker way would be taking Adrena-Time until the stranger’s intelligence is low enough.
1 Supernova
Supernova is the highest difficulty in The Outer Worlds. It changes things like making companion deaths permanent, enemy’s stronger, and making eating necessary for survival.
Some tips from GameRant include stacking up on armor and weapon parts, using the Traveler Perk, and going for a long-range build.
