Attending university has long been a huge part of The Sims experience and Discover University brings this into The Sims 4. This expansion allows your sims to go to university as a young adult, adult, or even an elder. This time around, it’s never too late to enjoy all this pack has to offer.

While classes are rabbit hole based, there are so many other activities to enjoy on the university campuses that you won’t be bored. Investigate new clubs, live in dorms, ride your bike around campus, and much more. There is also a wide range of versatile items available in the build and buy and create-a-sim categories.

Since playstyles vary so much so here’s what you need to know about everything Discover University has to offer, enabling you to decide if it’s the pack for you.

10 There’s A Choice Of Two Universities

There are two universities to choose from. Foxbury has a more modern campus with a focus on science and technology while Britechester is a more traditional looking campus with a focus on arts and humanities.

The campuses both have two sets of dorms, a common building, and a university campus house that fits their individual style. There are also university buildings in which classes take place, a sports arena, and several open public areas.

9 You Can Live In Dorms, Student Houses Or On A Regular Lot

Each campus has its own dorms and a house specifically for students. However, there are also regular houses in the new world of Britechester. Anyone can live in these houses, regardless of if they attend university. You can also have students at both universities in one off-campus house.

For those who want university to be an extra for a sim in an existing household, students can also live in any regular residential lot and simply travel to Britechester for classes, as they would with a rabbit hole career.

8 There Are A Range Of Flexible Courses Available

There are thirteen different courses available and degrees are very flexible. Each university offers all courses but will offer enhanced options in the subjects the campus specializes in. Enhanced degree acceptance is based on sims skills at the time they apply to university.

Students can choose to study between one and four modules per term but must complete twelve modules in order to graduate. When studying two or more modules one of these can be an elective that will help boost a specific skill.

7 You Can Take Out Student Loans And Apply For Grants

If your household cannot afford university fees then student loans are available. You may also qualify for a grant. Sims can apply for a grant and household funds, location, and sims skills will all affect the help available.

Just be aware that not paying back your student loans can result in a visit from the repo man. Those with grants who fail to keep up their grades can also find themselves losing the grant money.

6 Degrees Have Career Benefits

A degree will give you a boost in certain careers. This is variable but it can help you earn more money or start at a higher rung on the ladder. Those who qualify for and pass enhanced degrees will get a slightly larger boost than those who pass regular degree courses.

As new careers are added relevant degrees are tied to them, meaning going to university will always give you a boost, whatever your chosen career path.

5 You Can Participate In New Activities

The pack also adds a range of new activities. Sims can play ping pong or juice pong, do keg stands and attend new clubs and societies. They can also engage in shower woohoo and those who are wannabe pranksters can also play pranks on others.

Both universities have football teams and you can join the team or choose to watch the game via rabbit hole events. Alongside the regular sports teams, E-sports teams are also available for in-game gamers.

4 You Can Join A Regular Club Or A Secret New Society

For those who like their clubs to be more secretive and frankly more bizarre, there is a secret society that meets in the area. It takes some time to find them and to get into the gang but the rewards are worth it.

New regular and interactive clubs are the robotics club at Foxbury and the debate club at Britechester. There are also various related on-campus events you can join in with related to these clubs.

3 You Can Ride A Bike Around Campus (& Beyond)

If you’ve ever wanted to ride a bike in The Sims 4 then now is your chance. This pack was the first to add cycling, which is also available with Eco Lifestyle.

There are a range of bikes to choose from and the campus is designed to make cycling both enjoyable and a quick way to navigate the large outdoor areas. Bikes can also be ridden in other worlds, meaning they are not just fun but also very flexible.

2 The Create A Sim items Are Casually Chic

The range of create-a-sim items is versatile and casual. There are lots of denim items, tank tops, crop tops, and slogan items. You’ll also find overalls and casual jumpers and shirts.

In this pack, there are also more accessories than normal. It adds nose and eyebrow studs as well as a range of small and cute tattoos. As expected there are also several hairstyles for both male and female sims of all ages.

1 Build And Buy Is Bursting With Dorm Furniture

The furniture in the pack is also very versatile. It is designed for dorm rooms but is generic enough that it will go well in any space. There are beds, dressers, desks, and bookshelves, as well as a range of university themed posters.

While the flooring and wallpaper choices are quite vibrant there are also some very useful windows and doors in a wide range of swatches. This makes the collection of items quite wide-ranging.
