Over the last few months, The Sims 4 community has been voting to create the second community Stuff Pack. After helping to select the theme, style, assets, icon, and name, the time has finally come to see the trailer and it’s worth the wait. The most notable part of the trailer even takes knitting to a whole new level, with a rocking chair on the roof.

While we know a reasonable amount about the pack, due to the collaboration during development as well as SimGuruConor’s blog updates, the trailer was no less exciting. After a teaser was shown yesterday even SimGuruNinja was excited, although maybe that’s because the star of the trailer has a familiar style.

The trailer uses the now-familiar format of an upbeat song alongside quick cuts, showing off new features of the pack. Most things spotted were expected but there are a few surprises to be found as well, including an appearance by Yarny from Unravel who has been immortalized as a knitted toy.

Having a Stuff Pack voted for by the community makes for a very different experience when it’s revealed. Having been so well informed during the process of development there is no big shock when a theme is announced. We also knew the style of the pack and the most likely assets to appear. We were also aware that the gameplay element of the pack was the new rocking chair, along with a reminiscence interaction for elders.

Simmers following the pack’s development will also know that sims can sell their creations on Plopsy, an online store, knitting will be a skill that is learned, and sims can teach others to knit, unlocking new knitting styles in the process.

The Sims 4: Nifty Knitting will be released on Tuesday, July 28th for PC and Mac via Origin and Steam as well as on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

If you can’t wait that long for a Sims 4 fix, then you can check out the franchise’s brand new first-of-its-kind reality show, Spark’d. It debuts on Friday, July 17th at 11 pm  ET/PT on TBS and will also be available on the Buzzfeed Multiplayer YouTube channel from Monday 20th July.
