As soon as the credits rolled on the last episode of the first season The Witcher Netflix series, people have been waiting for season 2. Unfortunately for us, we’re probably going to have to wait quite some time for its release.

In the meantime, we can speculate on which characters will be making their first appearances in the Netflix series. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is rife with characters that we’d like to see in season 2, but some characters are more likely to appear than others. Let’s take a look at some characters that could.

10 Anna Henrietta

Kicking off this list is Anna Henrietta, the Duchess of Toussaint, known by those closest to her as Anarietta. Anarietta appears in the Blood and Wine expansion of Witcher 3 but that wasn’t the first time Geralt ran into her.

Anarietta appears in the last two books of the Witcher saga so it’s unlikely she’ll be introduced as early as season 2 but that doesn’t mean the show has to follow the books exactly. The Netflix show has already shown off a vast world so it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to introduce Anna Henrietta a bit early.

9 Keira Metz

Keira Metz is a sorceress that appears in Witcher 3 and helps Geralt track down a lead on Ciri’s location and helps him fight off the Wild Hunt while doing it. Even though she didn’t make her game appearance until the last one, she quickly became a fan favorite.

Keira appears quite early on in the books so depending on how far into the Witcher story season 2 takes us, there could be a good chance that she makes an appearance in the upcoming season.

8 Morvran Voorhis

Morvran Voorhis is a high-ranking official in the Niflgaardian military, a blood relative of Emperor Emhyr, and he’s as slimy as he looks. In the games, Geralt only encounters Morvran in Witcher 3 and though they never actually battle, Morvran is in no way an ally.

Morvran also does appear in the books so this character is sure to appear in the Netflix series, the question would just be when it would happen. There’s a chance he could appear by the end of season 2 but even if he does, he’s not likely to have a major role.

7 Phillip Strenger

If there’s one thing The Witcher loves, it’s complicated, morally gray characters, and there’s few in Witcher 3 that is as morally gray as Phillip Strenger, aka The Bloody Baron. On the one hand, he served in the military throughout his life to fight for Temeria and helps Geralt find Ciri, but on the other much more despicable hand, he beat his pregnant wife and drove his daughter away.

Even though Strenger only appears in Witcher 3 and not any of the books, his story delves into themes that are perfect for the Netflix series.

6 Eredin

Arguably the character many fans want most to see appear in The Witcher Netflix series is Eredin, the leader of the Wild Hunt. Eredin is an absolutely terrifying villain and he does appear in books, but he doesn’t play nearly as big of a role in the books than in the games.

It’s not likely that Eredin will get much focus in the upcoming season because he doesn’t really get any focus until the latter half of the book saga, but he could appear riding at the head of the Wild Hunt since the hunt also appears in the books, and they appear pretty early in the series.

5 Priscilla

It can be tough speculating which characters from Witcher 3 could appear in the Netflix series because the games aren’t considered canon and the series is following the books much more closely. Even so, we can’t help but hope because the characters that appear in the game fit into the Witcher universe so perfectly. Take Priscilla, for example.

Priscilla is a romantic poet, much in the same vein as Dandelion (aka Jaskier). She’s a fan-favorite character and at once a great foil for Dandelion and a layered character in her own right.

4 Emhyr Var Emreis

Season 1 made a few mentions of Nilfgaard’s new emperor, the rightful heir who had returned from exile to claim the throne. If season 2 gives increasing focus on the Nilfgaardian Empire, it’d be the perfect time to introduce Emhyr var Emreis.

Now technically, Emhyr has been introduced already in season 1 so if you want to avoid spoilers, move on to the next entry. Emhyr was introduced in season 1 as Duny, or the Urcheon of Erlenwald, the cursed knight that looked like a porcupine that ends up being Ciri’s father. There’s a chance that Duny can be revealed to be Emhyr in season 2.

3 Cerys An Craite

Season 1 of The Witcher briefly introduced viewers to the boisterous Crach an Craite, a nobleman from the Skellige Isles as a candidate to marry Queen Calanthe’s daughter Pavetta. But in Witcher 3, Crach rules over Skellige and has a daughter of his own in Cerys an Craite.

Cerys doesn’t appear in the books so the likelihood of her appearing in the Netflix series is up in the air, but given the time-hopping format of the first season, we can’t see why not.

2 Shani

Some characters that appear in both the books and the games, like Shani, are sure to appear in the Netflix series, it’s only a matter of when. Since Shani appears in the first book of the Witcher saga, it’s likely we get to see her in the upcoming season if it goes far enough into the story.

Shani, who appeared in the Hearts of Stone expansion of Witcher 3, is a medic that became the Dean of the Department of Medicine at Oxenfurt Academy by the time you encounter her in Witcher 3 but in the books, first appears to help Geralt and Dandelion do some reconnaissance on Djikstra.

1 Regis

Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy, or simply Regis, is a higher vampire that Geralt encountered in the Blood and Wine expansion that Geralt is genuinely surprised to see. That’s because, in the books, Regis is killed trying to save Yennefer.

Regis is a hugely important character in the books. He joins Geralt’s crew to help find Ciri, who evidently has a habit of going missing. Even though Regis isn’t supposed to appear until about midway through the saga, we’d love to seem Regis make an appearance in season 2.
