A witcher’s job is to go around hunting monsters that threaten innocent people. In The Witcher, Geralt is just that, going from place to place taking on monster hunting contracts. That is until his life becomes mixed up with destiny.

In season 1 of the popular The Witcher Netflix series, the show has only scratched the surface of the monsters that The Witcher has to offer. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has some great monsters that would be perfect for season 2.

10 Elementals

Kicking off this list is the Elemental, which made its game debut in The Witcher 2. Elementals are a type of Golem and come in two varieties: Earth and Fire Elementals. Both are terrifying to go up against.

Elementals hit hard, really hard. If not careful, they can drain the player’s health in just a few hits, and Fire Elementals are especially dangerous because they give constant fire damage if they get close enough. Seeing how the Elementals translate to the Netflix series would be interesting, and their designs are so cool that they deserve to be seen in live-action.

9 Nekkers

The last episode of The Witcher’s first season saw Geralt go up against a pack of ghouls that he very nearly died against, proving that even if a certain monster is weak and easy to kill on its own, they could still be very dangerous in groups. Nekkers are monsters that fall into that category.

Individually, they’re very easy to take on; however, a group of Nekkers can quickly prove deadly for a careless witcher. Nekkers are fairly common monsters in The Witcher 2, so there’s no reason they can’t appear in the upcoming season.

8 Endrega

The very first scene of the Netflix series has Geralt going up against a kikimora, a massive insect-like monster that nearly drags Geralt to the bottom of a swampy lake. If that opening scene proved anything, it is that Netflix’s show needs more insectoid monsters in season 2.

Endrega are insect-like monsters that populate the world of The Witcher 2 and look like a grotesque cross between a spider, scorpion, and dinosaur. Endrega can take multiple forms depending on their roles, be it worker, soldier, or queen, and if they make an appearance in season 2, they are sure to send shivers down many backs.

7 Wraith

The Witcher series is more action-adventure than it is horror, but anytime wraiths are involved, things take a turn for the terrifying. Wraiths haven’t yet appeared in the Netflix series, so that’s all the more reason to have at least one show up in season 2.

Witchers usually hunt monsters but occasionally, they have to put the spirits of the dead to rest to stop them from haunting people. Walking through a darkened ruin and then seeing a wraith menacingly float by is a frightful sight and one that should be brought into the Netflix series.

6 Draugir

As the Nilfgaardian Empire continues to invade other kingdoms and expand its borders, battles to resist Nilfgaard are going to get bloodier and bloodier. These battlefields would be the perfect opportunity to introduce the draugir.

Draugir live for war, appearing at sites of brutal, bloody battles. According to Geralt, they are the living embodiments of the bloodlust and resentment that fuel battles. These mish-mashes of bones and armor pieces are an imposing sight to come across and it’d be interesting to see how the characters in the Netflix series handle them.

5 Bullvore

There are some pretty horrific-looking monsters throughout The Witcher series but few are as horrific as the bullvore. Bullvores, like ghouls, are a type of necrophage, but bullvores are usually found with a group of rotfiends rather than with each other.

The journal entry for bullvore in The Witcher 2 states that these creatures can be compared to a mass of muscles in a sack of hard, elastic skin. Bullvores are truly one of the most grotesque monsters in The Witcher and seeing how terrifying the Netflix series made the striga look, we’d love to see what the show could do with a bullvore.

4 Arachas

It has already been discussed that it would cool be for an endrega to appear in the Netflix series, their creepy crawling sure to give jitters to anyone watching. Well, when it comes to insect-like monsters, arachas are a must.

As their name suggests, arachas are large spider-like monsters, with a bit of crab mixed in. They’re easy enough to kill but what Geralt would really need to worry about is their venom. Arachas would make an interesting addition to the Netflix series, and given the journeying nature of the show, there’s a chance they could make an appearance in season 2.

3 Trolls

The Witcher may be dark fantasy but that doesn’t mean there isn’t time for some humor and levity. Geralt has been known to provide some dry humor throughout the series, and even some of his interactions with the monsters he hunts provide some great comedic material. Take, for example, just about any interaction he has with trolls.

Trolls are hulking humanoid creatures that are mostly harmless. Mostly. As they’re dimwitted and enjoy farting, the mere thought of Henry Cavill’s Geralt interacting with these flatulent creatures is hilarious.

2 Harpies

Most of the monsters in The Witcher are based on actual mythological creatures, like the harpy. Harpies are monsters that look like a horrific amalgamation of a woman and a bird and they happen to be kleptomaniacs. Their nests are filled with shiny loot and they’re very protective of it, but more than shiny objects, harpies can steal dreams.

As repulsive and terrifying as rotfiends and bullvores are, harpies could be the worst of them all. If that doesn’t sound perfect for the Netflix series, then nothing will.

1 Kayran

Finally, there’s the Kayran, a giant mass of tentacles and teeth that should definitely make an appearance in the Netflix series. In The Witcher 2, the Kayran is a boss enemy, meaning it’s not an easy beast to take down; consequently, it could mess with the pacing of the show’s main story.

However, just as season 1 opened with Geralt slaying a kikimora, season 2 could feature a scene that shows the end of Geralt’s battle with a kayran, just as he’s dealing the finishing blows.
