The Land of a Thousand Fables is a beautiful place that Geralt is able to explore in The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine DLC, and it is widely considered to be one of the best creations in the entire game. The Land of a Thousand Fables has many different locations to see and new enemies to fight, which adds a breath of fresh air to the large DLC.

Since the Land of a Thousand Fables is such a magnificent realm, there are also some things that players would love to know about it since there is a lot of logic involved with this realm that isn’t very well explained inside of the game or the Land of a Thousand Fables itself.

10 Why Can Geralt Be Physically Damaged?

Realistically, Geralt shouldn’t be able to be damaged in the Land of a Thousand Fables because it isn’t a physical place; instead, it is an illusion.

For whatever reason, Syanna and Geralt are both able to be physically damaged and hurt by the enemies that appear in this realm, which brings to light questions about how this is possible despite the fact that they aren’t actually real and could actually be considered to be illusions, similar to the realm.

9 Why Do Some Items Disappear When Geralt Leaves And Others Don’t?

When Geralt finishes up in the realm and eventually leaves to go back to the real world, he is able to take some of the items that he collected with him. These items include the weapons and armor that were found inside of the Land of a Thousand Fables.

However, it seems that any other items that Geralt collected, such as four-leaf clovers, are taken out of Geralt’s inventory never to be seen again by the player. It doesn’t make sense how some items are allowed to exist in the real world as well as the Land of a Thousand Fables, and some aren’t.

8 Why Hasn’t Thumbelina’s Town Been Destroyed Yet?

Thumbelina is a fairy tale character that can be found in the Land of Thousand Fables that Geralt will get to directly interact with, in the form of stepping on her, killing her. This is an unfortunate yet comical event that takes place in the realm.

Thumbelina lives in a small town, and as it is questionable how the town hasn’t been destroyed prior to Geralt entering the realm. There are many much larger entities that can be found inside of the land, which is why it is quite peculiar that Thumbelina’s Town hasn’t yet been destroyed simply by the enemies accidentally stepping on it.

7 Why Are There So Many Fairy Tales In Such A Small Area?

There are a bunch of fairy tales to be found inside of the Land of a Thousand Fables, including Little Red Riding Hood and Thumbelina, among others. This is especially strange, and fans wonder why this is the case since the Land of a Thousand Fables is such a small space.

Perhaps the land was originally supposed to be much larger with all of the fairy tales spaced out appropriately; however, it could have been cut due to time constraints or other reasons.

6 Why Does The Message Board Resemble A Regular Message Board?

There’s a message board inside of the Land of a Thousand Fables that resemble the message boards that can be found in the real world very closely. The fact that this message board is so similar in size and shape to the one found in the main game doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Another thing about the message board that is strange is the fact that it contains notes and also contracts in the same way that the main game message boards function. Although this was great to interact within the realm, it doesn’t make sense that the message boards from the real world and the Land of a Thousand Fables are exactly the same in terms of design.

5 Why Can People Die In The Land Of Fables?

It is proven that people are able to die in the Land of a Thousand Fables since Geralt is able to die, and there is also a dead knight that can be found while exploring the realm in its entirety. The knight originally wandered into the land to find a fairy tale bride; however, he ended up getting killed, presumably by all of the dangerous illusions that lie within the land.

Even though people are able to be damaged in this realm, dying is a whole other thing since it isn’t even a physical realm, to begin with. This world made of illusions should not logically be able to kill people.

4 Why Does A Silver Sword Damage The Enemies While A Steel Sword Is Ineffective?

The steel swords that Geralt wields in The Witcher 3 cannot be used to damage enemies in the Land of a Thousand Fables, instead silver swords is the only weapons that will defeat these illusions.

A lot of quest players question the logic in this since both of these swords are technically physical, and only one can be used to even hit an enemy, while the other seems to be completely ineffective against the enemies that lurk in the Land of a Thousand Fables.

3 Why Isn’t The Land Of Fables Used In Society?

The Land of a Thousand Fables is an impressive realm, and it would make sense that it would be used in society as a form of entertainment or be used for another function that would benefit everyone.

However, the Land of a Thousand Fables is only used by members of the royal family in Toussaint, which calls into question why this is the case since these illusions could probably be created in a mainstream way and be used for a type of virtual reality, similar to how people in the real world use video games.

2 Are The Creatures In The Land Of Fables Truly Conscience?

Some players wonder if the creatures in the Land of a Thousand Fables are conscious since some of them are able to talk to the player and even have full-blown conversations with Geralt and Syanna.

If these people and monsters are sentient, then why haven’t they yet figured out a way to leave the Land of a Thousand Fables and enter the real world? It can be assumed that since these creatures are technically illusions, they aren’t conscious in the same way that most people in The Witcher universe are; however, this remains unclear.

1 Why Does Geralt Call The Unicorn Roach?

Geralt refers to the unicorn that he finds inside of the realm as Roach, the name for his horse in the main game. This is a peculiar occurrence since this unicorn has just met Geralt and does not have any name.

Although this occurrence can be explained by the developers forgetting to take out the voice line when creating the unicorn, it still doesn’t make any sense since most people wouldn’t name a horse that they’ve just met and will only use for a few hours, let alone give it the exact same name as their horse that is waiting outside.
