Few games are as meticulously designed as The Witcher 3. The world is brimming with wonderful little details, and the characters feel like fully-fledged people.

One character, in particular, that is very well-written, is Ciri. She plays a vital role in the main story, and her greatness is a big reason why the third Witcher game is so beloved.

However, not everything that the character is involved in is perfect. For instance, Geralt’s lengthy search for her is filled with weirdness. And Ciri herself does her fair share of strange things during the game. Luckily, fans have turned these imperfections into excellent memes.

10 Not Every Player Saves Ciri

Throughout The Witcher 3, Ciri is ruthlessly hunted down by The Wild Hunt. However, it seems that most players don’t care about putting a stop to it.

It’s a long game that gives players lots of things to do, so it isn’t a huge shock that many don’t finish everything. Still, it’s funny that in some players’ saves, Geralt never bothers to save his adoptive daughter.

9 The Mystery Of The Broken Rakes

Anyone who has spent time looting the many houses in The Witcher 3 will notice there’s an inexplicable number of broken rakes in the world. And where they all came from is never explained.

Does everyone have bad luck with their rakes? Or is the tool just really flimsy in The Witcher universe? This meme presents the most comical theory, and in place of a true explanation, it’s the best one.

8 Geralt Doesn’t Treat Everyone The Same

Geralt’s mere reputation is enough to strike fear in the hearts of most of the people he meets. And if anyone ever tries to antagonize him, a slight change in his tone usually stops them in their tracks. That is unless the person irritating him is Ciri or Yennefer.

He has a big soft spot for those two, so much so that the usually cold Butcher of Blaviken seems a lot warmer while around them.

7 Ciri Is Not Too Powerful For Juvenile Fun

During their time at Kaer Morhen, Geralt and Ciri can engage in a snowball fight. It’s a sweet yet odd sight to see these two incredibly powerful individuals throwing snow at each other.

Although, it gets weirder when Ciri starts teleporting around to give herself an advantage. Using mystical Elder Blood powers to assist in a snowball fight seems like overkill. Geralt only started the game to cheer her up.

6 Ciri’s Gwent Card

When Geralt is asking around for Ciri, he can only describe her by saying she has ashen hair. At first, this makes sense as he’s not seen Ciri in years.

However, for the players who acquire the Ciri Gwent card from the Scoia’tael trader, it doesn’t make any sense at all. In their playthroughs, Geralt is carrying around a picture of Ciri, yet still tries to describe her to people instead of just showing them the card.

5 A Straight Answer Is Hard To Find

In his hunt for Ciri, Geralt comes across many people who have information about her whereabouts. Yet, barely any of them are willing to give up what they know for free.

They all want Geralt to complete some sort of quest for them first. And only then will they help the Witcher find his adoptive daughter who could be in mortal danger. Is everyone in the Witcher universe a horrible person?

4 Question Marks Are The Priority

The Witcher 3’s map is brimming with question marks that are often the locations of unimportant smugglers’ caches and monster nests. That still doesn’t stop dedicated players from spending hours going around and finding every single one of them.

In the context of the story, though, it makes no sense. Geralt wouldn’t waste time on pointless tasks when he knows that Ciri is in danger.

3 Words Are Deadly

Ciri is one of the most powerful beings in the entire Witcher universe. So it’s funny that she lives or dies by Geralt’s words.

If Geralt doesn’t give the right encouragement, then Ciri perishes when stopping the White Frost. While it’s a neat way for players to have a say in the game’s ending, it’s still bizarre that Ciri’s life hangs on a few seemingly unimportant dialog options.

2 Aging Inconsistencies

The exact age of Ciri is hard to determine as there are some contradictions in the books and games. Yet she is somewhere around the same age as King Radovid V, which is crazy as he looks significantly older than her.

Fans have tried to come up with explanations for this. For instance, a popular theory is that the stress of ruling has aged Radovid, however it shouldn’t make him look twenty years older. Another explanation is that time works differently in the worlds that Ciri has traveled through, but she actually looks the right age, it’s Radovid who looks too old.

1 A Missed Opportunity

To get away from the Wild Hunt, Ciri traveled through several different worlds. One of which she describes as a futuristic place where people use long-range weaponry, which sounds like guns.

For some reason, at no point did she have the idea of bringing those advanced weapons with her. Eredin and the red riders are strong warriors, but even they’d struggle against a gun or a rocket launcher. It might’ve taken some of the suspense out of the Battle of Kaer Morhen if the Witchers simply blew the creatures away with shotguns, but it would be worth it if Vesemir lived.
