The Witcher is a highly popular series starring Geralt of Rivia, a stoned face monster hunter who is not all that he seems. There are tons of things throughout the games that just don’t make sense about the White Wolf.
From the fact that people seem to always underestimate Geralt for some reason to the women who are confused that he is still with Yen, tons of things in the universe just don’t make sense. To celebrate all the strange things that take place in the world of The Witcher, below are ten memes that prove that Geralt of Rivia makes no sense at times.
10 You Picked The Wrong Guy!
During adventures, gamers will come across all types of fantastic beasts to slay. On occasion, though, players will also find camps of bandits that want to mug them. This is a bit surprising as most everyone knows of Geralt and the terrifying powers that Witchers like him wield.
Even so, common bandits feel like that they can easily steal from Geralt without getting hurt.
9 Talking Horse
Geralt is highly intelligent and seems to know exactly what creatures show signs of intelligence. Even though this is apparent he still seems to talk to Roach, who is just a normal horse. It actually seems like he can talk to Roach easier than he can anyone else in the series.
Either Geralt is secretly a horse whisperer or he has learned that Roach is the only character that won’t talk back to him.
8 Stealing From A Village
Geralt has been known to reject quests that he doesn’t have time for, even if a village is being gutted by vampires. Sometimes, Geralt will reject helping the village only to raid each and every house of their valuables.
This puts the townspeople in an even worse position from before and makes it harder for them to pay him. It’s almost like Geralt has found the perfect way to extort those in need.
7 Meditating Anytime, Anywhere
One of the few ways that players can pass time and make potions is by meditating. As long as you are safe and not in a story scene, you can easily meditate just about everywhere.
That even means in the middle of narrow roads or on bridges that the residents need to cross. At times, Geralt may meditate for hours on end, which has to annoy those that have to wait for him to move.
6 Wanna Play Gwent?
One of the things that players will quickly learn when playing The Witcher is that Gwent is incredibly popular and addicting. It is so addicting in fact that Geralt will drop almost any mission, including finding his missing daughter to play a few rounds.
Sometimes he will even beat every player in a region. Gwent may just be something that Geralt needs serious help in order to quit.
5 Lilac & Gooseberries
Geralt understandably wants to find Yennifer, but the two have been living separate lives for some time. Yen seems to have little interest in coming to Geralt first, so it’s a bit surprising that he is so willing to drop everything and just run off to chase the scent of lilac and gooseberries.
Who is to say that other women in the world of The Witcher don’t use this same perfume?
4 Geralt, The Two-Timer
Geralt is pretty horrible to the women he claims he loves. What is even more surprising is that he gets away with it so often. The world he lives in isn’t technology advanced, but you would think that the powerful sorceress would eventually put everything together and go after him.
The fact that Geralt sleeps with so many women, especially without Triss or Yen knowing, is just unbelievable.
3 Rob The Poor, Give To The Witcher
Even worse than looting and not helping a village is helping them and then stealing. On top of just trying to survive a dark and dangerous world, the villages in question are often small and can only scrape enough to see tomorrow.
With that in mind, it’s a bit strange that Geralt would take their money and then rummage through their homes in order to seek more payment. It is even weirder that no one ever says anything about the things Geralt is taking from them.
2 Eating Food Raw
Honestly, Geralt could use igni to cook any meal he wanted, yet he can choose to eat raw meat. As most people know, eating raw food can be dangerous and aside from sushi just doesn’t taste that great.
One would think he would use his abilities to try and make his life a bit better. Geralt could literally fix a steak in seconds, yet chooses not to.
1 Haircuts At All Costs
A time-sensitive matter would normally means that Geralt would have to take care of the pressing matter right away, especially when the fates of many are at stake. But instead of being confined to this one important quest, players can wander off to do virtually anything they want.
This even includes getting haircuts in the middle of a mission with a murderer on the loose. With terrible time management skills like these, this type of behavior can’t give a good name to Witchers.
