Geralt’s main goal throughout most of The Witcher 3 is to find Ciri. It’s a long and difficult quest that continually tests the resolve of the protagonist. Thankfully, though, he doesn’t spend his entire adventure on his own. The Witcher has a litany of allies that aid him on his journey.

They all lend a hand in different ways, from helping in battle to providing intel that’s vital to the hero’s search. Yet, some give Geralt a lot more help than others. So, out of all of the witcher’s friends, who provides the most assistance when it comes to locating his adoptive daughter?

14 Ermion - Hinders More Than Helps

Even though Ermion shares a close bond with Ciri, he doesn’t really help Geralt find her. In fact, he makes the search more difficult by trying to stop Yennefer from investigating the cataclysm on Ard Skellig.

He doesn’t do so because he has anything against Ciri. His actions are a result of the lack of trust he has for Yennefer. She does end up stealing his Mask of Uroboros, so perhaps he is right to be concerned.

13 Thaler - Unclear If He Knows About The Situation

Thaler’s main motivation throughout the game is to assassinate Radovid alongside Dijkstra and Roche. As the King is one of the evilest characters in the series, killing him is a noble cause. But the Spy doesn’t help with the other honorable deed of finding Ciri.

You can’t be too hard on him, though, as Geralt never asks the man for aid. In fact, it’s unclear if the guy even knows what’s happening regarding Ciri.

12 Letho - None Of His Business

Because of his physical strength and keen intellect, Letho would’ve been an excellent companion to have on any adventure. Yet, he’s a more recent ally of Geralt; therefore, the big witcher might’ve not even known about the girl until the Battle of Kaer Morhen.

Also, the guy has his own problems as he’s the target for a fair number of people. His unpopularity shouldn’t come as a surprise as he did murder several kings.

11 Clan An Craite - Willing To Assist

Crach, Cerys, and Hjalmar are three of Geralt’s most loyal allies, and they’d usually be up for assisting Ciri. Unfortunately, though, there’s not much the family can do.

During Ciri’s brief trip to Skellige, she didn’t see any of the Clan, so they don’t have any information on her whereabouts. Crach still helps a little by overruling Ermion and allowing Yennefer’s investigation of the cataclysm to go ahead.

10 Dandelion - Fills In Some Gaps In Ciri’s Journey

As is often the case, Geralt goes to great lengths to save Dandelion in the Witcher 3. He acquires aid from several different people to find and free the Bard from captivity.

This time the rescue of Dandelion isn’t because he’s one of the witcher’s best friends, it’s due to him perhaps having information on Ciri. Once Geralt makes the save, though, he soon learns that the Bard doesn’t have a lot of intel. He does tell Geralt the tale of Ciri’s time in Novigrad, but he’s unable to provide much else.

9 Sigismund Dijkstra - Provides A Little Information

When in Novigrad, Geralt finds out that Whoreson Junior had a run-in with Ciri. Therefore, the unsavory criminal becomes an important lead for the witcher. Someone who happens to have an issue with Junior at the time is Sigismund Dijkstra.

The Spymaster is willing to provide Geralt with plenty of information about the criminal. It’s enough intel to give the witcher a solid start on his search. However, it’s the only real involvement Dijkstra has in the main quest.

8 Vernon Roche And Ves - Have An Important Contact

At one point, Geralt’s hunt for Whoreson Junior hits a snag as the target is not at any of the locations you’d expect. Thankfully, the ever-reliable Roche has a contact that can help in the search. The man in question is none other than King Radovid.

Despite being an unbelievably cruel ruler, he gives Geralt the exact location where Junior is hiding. Finding the criminal wouldn’t have been possible without the influence of Roche. Although besides the important introduction, he and Ves don’t do much to assist Geralt on his wild-goose chase.

7 Dudu - Helps Free Dandelion

Getting ahold of Dudu in The Witcher 3 isn’t easy. Geralt has to put on an entire play to convince the Doppler to come out of hiding. Once he does, he plays a valuable role in freeing Dandelion.

Using his shapeshifting abilities, he’s able to impersonate Menge and create an opportunity for the Bard to be rescued. The plan works perfectly as they get their loud-mouthed ally back. Dandelion doesn’t end up being much use in tracking down Ciri, but that’s not Dudu’s fault.

6 Zoltan Chivay - Assists With The Artists

Zoltan is one of the best characters in the series. What makes him so great is his willingness to aid his friends at virtually every opportunity. During the search for Ciri, he lives up to his reputation as he does all he can to assist Geralt.

Firstly, he introduces the witcher to the poet and singer Priscilla, who helps in various ways. Then later, he plays a key role in freeing Dandelion.

5 Keira Metz - Embarks On An Important Quest With Geralt

Keira Metz is one of the first people to lend Geralt a hand on his adventure. The duo follows a lead that takes them to some Elven ruins. While there, they find some promising clues and plenty of Wild Hunt riders.

With the Sorceress by his side, Geralt can survive the dangerous foes and even put an end to one of the Hunt’s tougher warriors, Nithral. However, Keira’s assistance isn’t entirely based on violence, as she also provides the witcher with valuable insight during the quest.

4 Priscilla - Gives You Multiple Leads

Nobody helps more in the search for Dandelion than Priscilla. After all, she wants to find the Bard as much as Geralt does. Thus, she puts him on the trail of both Whoreson Junior and Sigismund Dijkstra.

Plus, she later helps you put together the play that lures Dudu out of hiding. Without her, it would’ve taken Geralt a lot longer to find and free his favorite Bard.

3 Wolf School Witchers - The Curse Lifters

For most of the game, Vesemir, Eskel, and Lambert are nowhere to be seen. Although, when Yennefer needs assistance to lift the curse on Uma, they all lend a hand.

None of them really choose to aid with the ritual, as the Sorceress makes them. However, if any of them was absolutely against assisting Yen, they could’ve protested. Because of their actions, Uma transformed back into Avallac’h, who revealed Ciri’s location.

2 Triss Merigold - Goes To Extreme Lengths To Find Dandelion

With Triss, it isn’t about how much she helps find Ciri, but the length to which she goes to do so. The Sorceress willingly pretends to be Geralt’s prisoner to allow the Witcher a face-to-face meeting with Menge.

In said conversation, Geralt attempts to find out where the leader of the Witch Hunters is keeping Dandelion. Triss, meanwhile, is getting brutally tortured in the next room. It’s one of the most heroic things the Sorceress ever does.

1 Yennefer Of Vengerberg - Does As Much As Geralt

Finding Ciri is as much Yennefer’s quest as it is Geralt’s. In fact, she’s looking for her before the Witcher even knows about the situation. Throughout the game, she works tirelessly to track the woman down.

She even resorts to doing some questionable things like using necromancy to get the information she needs. Some of her actions rub people the wrong way, but she doesn’t care. The only thing Yennefer wants is to see Ciri again.
