As fans of The Witcher 3 know all too well, there are dozens of different monsters to encounter. These creatures are typically more complex than players will see when fighting them as Geralt the Witcher. Some are reclusive, some are aggressive, and most are downright terrifying. But which one best resembles your MBTI® personality?

Your MBTI®, also known as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, is a widely-accepted classification of your personality. There are 16 personality types to choose from and each is unique in its own way. The MBTI® goes far beyond whether you’re introverted or extroverted; it identifies your particular strengths, weaknesses, motivators, social habits, relationship styles, core values, and fears. And The Witcher monsters have these traits too!

16 INTJ: Higher Vampire

An INTJ is a very private, complex person who strives for perfection in everything that he or she does. These personalities are also imaginative thinkers with an eye for strategy. They walk alone and aren’t afraid to stand up for their beliefs.

Higher Vampires, just like INTJ personalities, are quite rare. Little is known about them and their few interactions with people can lead to more questions than answers. Due to their extreme intelligence, both Higher Vampires and INTJs can be judgemental of those they view as ’lesser’ beings. Obviously this doesn’t bode well for their romantic life.

15 INTP: Foglet

The INTP can be viewed as withdrawn, but this group actually has a passionate thirst for knowledge. They are clever inventors and value logic above all else. Unfortunately, this can cause them to disregard the welfare of others.

Foglets frequently display INTP characteristics in their encounters with players. They hide in the mist, observe their prey, then cleverly attack from behind. Foglets are as dangerous as they are clever. Just as INTP personalities prefer to deflect negative attention away from themselves, Foglets distract their enemies by splitting into multiple specters at once.

14 ENTJ: Griffin

ENTJ personalities are society’s fearless leaders. Both brave and cunning, they are perfectly represented by the Griffin, a lion-eagle hybrid. Players unlucky enough to trespass in a Griffin’s territory will find themselves being divebombed by the bold creature. Don’t even bother trying to claim land from these beasts; like ENTJs, they are amazingly stubborn.

An ENTJ has a way of inspiring people to follow them. While that may not be true of Griffins, both groups do prefer actions over words. They’ll fly first and ask questions later.

13 ENTP: Harpy

The most important thing to know about ENTP personalities is that they are extremely vocal about their ideas. So what’s the loudest monster that players will find in The Witcher 3? The harpy.

Like ENTPs, harpies are almost always found in flocks and they cannot resist a challenge. Members of this personality group aren’t afraid to shake things up. Their love of debating can sometimes be viewed as abrasive, but ENTPs are open-minded enough to accept new ideas. One of their biggest flaws is their lack of focus. When observing harpies, adventurers will always see them spinning through the air and quickly changing directions.

12 INFJ: Doppler

Not only is the Doppler incredibly rare, but even if players come across one, they probably won’t realize it. That’s because Dopplers can take the form of any human or animal that they choose. Even Geralt himself!

The INFJ is also an uncommon being. Making up just 3% of the general population, INFJs are one of the more highly-regarded personality types. They quietly inspire others through both their appeasing nature and their strong core values. Fans of The Witcher 3 know that, even though Dopplers fall under the Relicts ‘beast’ class, these beings will always try to avoid a confrontation. This can present challenges for most INFJs when encountering stronger personalities.

11 INFP: Djinn

Don’t bother rubbing a lamp to find the elusive Djinn. In fact, the only time players will come across this being in The Witcher 3 is during a quest. But that doesn’t mean Djinns aren’t committed servants like their INFP personality counterparts. Members of this group are extremely selfless idealists, very rare, and, unfortunately, easily discouraged if they don’t feel appreciated.

As granters of the infamous 3 wishes, Djinns definitely get the short end of the stick in The Witcher games. They’re constantly exploited for their near-mythical abilities. If an INFP feels dejected, it is very common for them to withdraw into ‘hermit mode’ as a form of self-protection. Maybe this is why Djinns are so rare. Poor things.

10 ENFJ: Godling

Though they may be frightening to look at (especially if those glowing yellow eyes are peering at you from the inside of a cave), Godlings are the noblest monsters in The Witcher franchise. They closely resemble their ENFJ human counterparts with their charisma and kindness towards others.

Godlings are not the strongest monsters of The Witcher 3 but their abilities are not to be underestimated. They can perform magic and frequently use this power to secretly help their neighboring communities. However, just like an ENFJ, Godlings can sometimes be so selfless that they forget to prioritize their own needs. Even mythical creatures need to practice self-care, right?

9 ENFP: Sylvan

Otherwise known as ’the life of the party,’ ENFP personalities are sociable, fun free spirits. So are the Sylvans. A Sylvan appears as a grotesque combination of man and goat and is more mischievous than any other being. It delights in performing pranks on local villagers, who will desperately present it with offerings to stop the mayhem.

One of the Sylvan’s biggest flaws, just like ENFP humans, is its frequent lack of focus. This can lead to indecisiveness and an impractical lifestyle. Pranks are fun, but they’re not the best way to make friends.

8 ISTJ: Hym

ISTJ personalities value reason above all else. They’re practical. Methodical. Even cold. In The Witcher 3, these qualities can also be associated with the Hym. Hyms are a type of dark spirit that subtly possesses someone who has committed a grievous crime. By feeding on this person’s guilt and paranoia, the Hym will slowly, painfully drive them insane. This demon will then claim its victim’s soul when they inevitably take their own life.

Though they are best depicted by Hyms, members of the ISTJ group are by no means sinister or evil. They’re just strong-willed and slow to forgive others’ mistakes. In this way, an ISTJ is arguably the most responsible personality group of the entire MBTI spectrum.

7 ISFJ: Lubberkin

Creepy floating baby thing? Nope, that’s just a lubberkin. These spirits may not win a beauty pageant anytime soon, but it’s impossible to ignore their noble and protective nature. Like ISFJ personalities, lubberkins are dependable, loyal, yet shy. They will selflessly guard their loved ones but prefer to avoid attention.

This admirable selflessness can also harm ISFJs. They often forget to consider their own feelings because they are always focused on the well-being of others. Tragically, lubberkins are no different.

6 ESTJ: Leshen

Players of The Witcher 3 will find that defeating a Leshen is no easy task. Often viewed as forest gods, Leshens are said to be spiritually connected with all plants, animals, and spirits of the woods. Their organizational strengths and management traits make them the perfect representation of an ESTJ. After all, keeping track of an entire forest can’t be easy.

An ESTJ’s dedication can also become an obstacle; they’re known to become inflexible and they have a hard time relaxing. But, like Leshens, they are very loyal to their cause.

5 ESFJ: Nekker

Both Nekkers found in The Witcher 3 and ESFJ personalities are highly social. They are not the strongest on their own, but their abilities are amplified when they’re part of a group. Even the mightiest monster slayer should be wary of a Nekker pack. With their quick attacks and surprising speed, a large group of Nekkers can overwhelm almost any prey.

ESFJ humans have the same team mentality. However, their reliance on their social group can sometimes be viewed as needy. But caring about others is always a good quality!

4 ISTP: Ice Giant

A lone Ice Giant in The Witcher 3 causes some trouble when Geralt messes with his home. That’s because the rare Ice Giant, like the ISTP group it personifies, takes a lot of pride in its craft. ISTPs are happiest when they can sit alone and tinker with a new project. They’re not afraid to take risks, and can sometimes act without thinking.

These traits are what make the Ice Giant of Skellige one of the more difficult monsters to defeat. Even supernaturally-assisted Ciri would have a hard time killing it. With its cleverly-crafted flail made from a ship anchor and armor stripped from boat planks, the Ice Giant will stubbornly defend its workshop. This resilience can be a little frustrating to people who have to deal with ISTP personalities.

3 ISFP: Katakan

The ISFP is, above all, an adventurer. These people love to experience new things and they’re confident in their ability to handle any situation. The Katakan of The Witcher games is also a wild one. Though it is related to the stoic Higher Vampires, a Katakan is more easily stressed and unpredictable.

The passion of an ISFP personality is translated into savagery for Katakans. This can make them one of the more dangerous monster contracts to complete in the game. Like the ISFP, a Katakan’s competitive nature ensures that it is unlikely to slink away from a fight. Or a feast.

2 ESTP: Werewolf

Members of the ESTP group are smart, energetic, and they usually live ‘on the edge.’ So do Werewolves of The Witcher 3. These creatures are vicious when encountered, but many of them are intelligent enough to communicate and sometimes grudgingly coexist with humans.

Unfortunately, an ESTP’s most hated enemy is structure. This personality type is known for defiance and rebelliousness. Werewolves frequently clash with nearby residents because of their impatience and, therefore, the townspeople will frequently hire a Witcher to get rid of the beast.

1 ESFP: Succubus

ESFP personalities are best known for their excellent people skills. These individuals are entertainers, showmen, and comedians. They are very spontaneous, and their zest for life tends to make them popular in social circles.

Though a Succubus in The Witcher 3 is usually in hiding from monster hunters, its primary defense is to distract. The Succubus will adorn itself with a flower crown and, sometimes, work in a discreet brothel where patrons won’t ask questions. Definitely a bold practice.
