The Witcher franchise is primarily focused on its titular hero, the witcher Geralt of Rivia. But Geralt’s world is large and rich and among other fantasy species, it also contains sorceresses who play an important part in society. They even have their own lodge - the Lodge of Sorceresses and advise rulers of various lands.

However, it would be a mistake to presume that each sorceress is the same. Just like humans (or dwarves, elves, or witchers), each sorceress has a different personality. That’s why their personality type, their MBTI®, also differs. And while some of them fit a certain type, others are on the opposite side of the spectrum.

10 ISTP: Fringilla Vigo

Fringilla is one of the lesser-known sorceresses, and she’s vastly different in the books and games than she is in Netflix’s show The Witcher. She fights alongside Nilfgaard but also helped Yennefer to find Ciri so she’s not entirely a villain, not all the time, anyway. Fringilla’s harder to determine but she could be an ISTP.

ISTPs are logical, learn by experience, are action-oriented, realistic, and practical. Fringilla doesn’t seem like the type who would just like to sit around, instead she would go into action and prevail since she’s smart and able to come up with a functional plan.

9 ENTP: Keira Metz

Not every sorceress is the same, but they do seem to share some similarities. Keira Metz primarily thinks about herself and she can be a bit selfish. At the same time, she’s willing to work to help others, if it benefits her. She also values knowledge and information, just like people with this personality type do.

ENTPs also don’t like it when they feel like somebody’s trying to control them and Keira always wants to be the one to decide her own fate which can lead to her making serious mistakes.

8 ESTJ: Philippa Eilhart

ESTJs are among the most ambitious people out there. They’re intelligent and resourceful, but sometimes can push too far and be seen as rigid or stubborn.

They like to believe they know the best, tend to practical, frank, and good leaders. Philippa possesses all of these traits and she proved her leadership skills when she started the Lodge of Sorceresses. Philippa also has some goal she’s working toward and doesn’t stop until she achieves it.

7 INTP: Sabrina Glevissig

Just like many sorceresses, Sabrina also likes to rely on herself, if she has the choice to do so.

That’s what connects her to INTPs who tend to be independent by nature. People with this personality type are also capable of great loyalty. Unfortunately for Sabrina, her loyalty was misplaced since she ended up burned at a stake.

6 INTP: Lytta Neyd

Alongside Yennefer and Triss, Lytta Neyd, also known as ‘Coral’, is another love interest of Geralt. Just like INTPs, Lytta was highly intelligent but she sometimes used her intellect for nefarious purposes.

For example, when she locked Geralt up once and then released him so that he would seek her out. INTPs can sometimes be callous or insensitive and Lytta had the potential to be cruel if she chose so.

5 INFJ: Margarita Laux-Antille

Not every sorceress is overly ambitious when it comes to kings and politicians - some just want to help others and share their knowledge with other people. That’s also the case for Margarita Laux-Antille who taught at Aretuza.

Margarita always loved seeking out new knowledge and she was dedicated to helping her students. INFJs are people who enjoy thinking about life and all its possibilities. They can have overly high expectations of others but are also sensitive to their needs, as Margarita proved by caring about her students.

4 INFP: Francesca Findabair

Unlike some other sorceresses on this list, Francesca Findabair didn’t have such a prominent role in The Witcher.

However, it’s known that she was a free-spirited and determined woman who wanted the best for her people, the elves, and was willing to fight for it. INFPs are known for their deep devotion to those they care about - devotion Francesca showed to her kin. She was also caring and interested in others.

3 ESFJ: Triss Merigold

Triss is a complicated character. On the one hand, it’s clear she loves Geralt and Ciri. On the other hand, she did manipulate Geralt into being with her.

However, there’s no denying that Triss can also be kind and loyal to those she cares about. When Geralt asked for her assistance in finding Ciri, she didn’t hesitate for a second and let herself be tortured for the cause. Like ESFJs, Trissenjoys helping others and is a practical person, however, she can also be a bit needy in the books.

2 ENTJ: Yennefer Of Vengerberg

Yennefer isn’t always the friendliest person out there, but that doesn’t mean she’s the bad guy. She can sometimes come across as too forceful when she commands people around her but she does it because she believes it to be the best course of action, something necessary. ENTJs are natural leaders and they have the tendency to control and shape other people’s actions.

They also plan ahead and think about the future. Yenneferalways has a plan in the time of crisis. Plus, she struggles with showing her emotions sometimes, but it’s clear she cares deeply about Geralt and Ciri.

1 ESTP: Ciri

While she’s not your typical sorceress, Ciri’s considerable magical powers earned her a spot on this list. Ciri has many good traits but just like all heroes of The Witcher, she’s not perfect. Her character traits make her similar to ESTPs. People with this personality type are funny and energetic.

They’re good at persuading others to do their bidding. They’re resourceful, quickly adapt to action, and have strong observation skills. However, they can also be impulsive. Ciri had to learn how to adapt to her new life but she managed it and still kept a part of the optimism and joy that made her so special.
