The Xbox Series XXL is definitely real. Oh yeah. For sure.
We’ve already got mixed feelings about the Xbox Series X. We love the fact that it’s reportedly an extremely powerful game console with more computational power than the PlayStation 5, but it falls apart in the looks department. It’s just a big box with an X on it.
So what if there was another version of the Xbox Series X that just sort of ran with the “big box” aesthetic?
Enter the Xbox Series XXL. This trailer (courtesy of IGN) starts with some inspirational quotes from Carl Sagan, who talks about “technology with awesome proportions.” How awesome? How about 400% larger than the original Xbox Series X.
Now we get into the nitty-gritty. Tons of “industrial-sized” LEDs. 5G wireless charging (which is most definitely a thing). “Massively integrated power supply” that provides “0 to 60 FPS in 2 seconds.” Also, “just a !@#$-load of ports,” including both power and ethernet cable ports.
Given the overall size of the Xbox Series XXL, we get why there’d be several dozen power ports needed to power the thing, but where are you going to find that many outlets?
We don’t have a release date or price tag on the Xbox XXL, and that’s probably for the best. Nobody should ever get their hands on this thing.
