If you’re a PlayStation owner, you have a lot of news going around and a lot of games to play. This month’s PS Plus offerings are rather sweet, with the new puzzle platform Oddorld: Soulstorm, Days Gone for those who have yet to play it, and Zombie Army 4 for some solid co-op action.

While this is great news, plenty are still upset at the upcoming closure of the PS3, PSP, and PS Vita stores this summer. To get your mind off this sad announcement, take a breather and laugh it up with the ten memes below, most of which are gaming related.

10 Turns Out, Disguising Oneself Is Not Too Hard

It is easy to call out movies as ridiculous and foolish, especially when it comes to suspending disbelief. However, this above picture shows that most would indeed not recognize Clark Kent as Superman. If they cannot recognize a movie star, why would they connect the dots between a mild-mannered journalist and an alien savior? To be fair, most were probably too distracted by his dashing good looks to realize they were looking at a movie star.

9 Digimon Vs. Pokemon

First things first; is that really the plural of either of those? besides the potential error, we definitely have to agree with the joke. Pokemon takes a more logical approach to evolutions and always fit in with nature.

Digimon goes a bit wilder with the way creatures evolve. Which one is better is up to personal preference, though we think sales numbers and cultural impact have long since determined the winner.

8 More Chips, More Hacks

Why are people excited about cybernetic enhancements? Haven’t enough writers and filmmakers told stories warning us about dystopian futures where the line between human and machines have blurred? Honestly, the above example is the best case scenario. It is not even a bad song. There are worse alternatives, like being forced to listen to Rebecca Black’s Friday forever. It probably won’t stop at brain chips either. Eye implants could probably make you see things that are not there.

7 Small Series, Big Impact

It is not about how long a series lasts; it is all about how good the episodes are. It is better for a series to have a few episodes that are memorable and easy to rewatch than a series that goes on for a decade but is mostly forgettable. Take Rowan Atkinson’s Mr. Bean series. Believe it or not, it only lasted 15 episodes. Despite this, the character has endured for decades. Similar shows with short runs but big impacts include The Honeymooners, Firefly, and Spaced, the latter of which includes overt references to games like Resident Evil.

6 Work From Home

It looks like the COVID pandemic has even caused some soldiers to do their work at home. If only one could play video games all day instead of risking their life on a battlefield. The worst injury you can suffer playing Call of Duty or Battlefield is the damage to your pride once a 13 year old child kills you over and over again with taunts following each defeat.

5 Just Enjoy The Movie

Do you ever watch a movie with friends and feel like they don’t appreciate it the same way you do? They are watching it from moment to moment while you contemplate every scene’s implication in the overarching narrative. Don’t bore your friends with all the details, however. Just let them have fun. Forcing the lore details on them could not only ruin their night, it could also destroy the relationship.

4 A Wonderful Compromise

If you are in a similar situation where a significant other is forcing you to take down all your gaming and pop culture posters, do not give up the fight. You can surely find a compromise. Plenty of gaming memorabilia is subtle, gorgeous, and adds spice to your living space. Most would not recognize the above meme as being an artistic rendition of the classic Counter Strike level, for example.

3 Riches From Small Beginnings

If gaming is just for fun, then any money made selling items or whatnot is just pure gravy. The following picture shows just how good it feels to sell something, even if it is literally worth less than ten cents. We often buy into the myth that most rich people started from small beginnings. In reality, many billionaires already came from wealthy families and probably did not start amassing capital on the Steam Marketplace.

2 Is AC/DC from Hammerfell or Morrowind?

Geography is not our strong suit, and a lot of people have trouble really understanding which countries are where. You could probably show a a random stranger on the street this map and they might just as well believe it to be Australia.

To be fair, the spiders in Australia are almost as big as spiders crawling along Skyrim’s dungeons. Are there any singers or writers in Cyrodiil as talented as Nick Cave or Kylie Minogue?

1 Gaming Is About Having Fun

This picture showcases what gaming is all about. It does not matter if you are terrible at video games as long as you are having a good time. Of course, you likely are not making this face much during The Last of Us Part 2 or Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. In multiplayer, though, spending quality time with friends is more vital to a successful play session than winning a bunch of matches.
