If there’s anything that gets us through our day-to-day lives, it’s undoubtedly the many, many memes that we see throughout the week, treating us to plenty of chuckles and bringing a smile to our day. We absolutely love memes, and that’s why we share some of our absolute favorites on our Facebook page every week.

In case you missed out on some prime meme-material, here are the very best memes of the past week to brighten up your day. From nostalgia to gaming habits we can all relate to, these memes are bound to make you laugh.

10 Get that Boy an Iron Already

This meme is of top “dad joke” quality and uses poor Peter Parker’s wrinkled shirt as the basis for its humor. While this is hilariously funny, it also just reminds us that Iron Man is gone in the MCU, and every time we remember that fact, it just punches us in the heart all over again.

Of course, one of the few people who feel this loss more than most is Peter Parker, evident from his lack of ironed clothing, apparently. However, with the concept of multiverses appearing in the MCU, who’s to say we won’t get a different Iron Man in the future?

9 Nostalgia-Tinted Glasses

We all have games that take a special place in our hearts, especially ones from our childhood, and the nostalgia we have for these games often tricks us into remembering the games as looking a lot better than they really were.

Of course, it’s not just nostalgia’s fault. Often we remember these games as being amazing at the time, as that’s what they were, with many being considered the height of technology when they were originally released. Unfortunately, when it comes to technology, nothing ages well.

8 And No One Said Anything??

There are often times in our lives where things happen and we can’t help but parallel them to situations from games. This Professor from Singapore lectured for two hours before realizing that he had been muted the entire time, if that’s not the perfect example of playing for hours and forgetting to save before you quit the game, then what is?

This is one of the worst things that can happen to a gamer, and you usually realize just after you hit the quit button and the sense of dread falls over you. What’s more unbelievable is that none of his students pointed out his mistake.

7 Respawn RNG Doesn’t Always Act Nice

If you thought it was bad enough that you just died while playing your favorite game, it could always get worse when you respawn, as this meme hilariously points out. Respawning close to enemy territory generally ends in a quick death and an equally quick respawn shortly afterward.

Much like this chicken, many players don’t even realize that they’ve respawned in a bad location when they’re playing. Not until they get killed again by a group of their opponents, of course.

6 The Real MVP

No one likes to get stuck with bad players and feel like they’re carrying the whole team, after all, multiplayer should be all about teamwork. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case, and the real MVP of a match is the one carrying all that extra weight of bad teammates.

This meme hilariously parallels someone carrying their team to a victory to Jesus carrying the whole of humanity. Hopefully, you don’t have to sacrifice yourself to save your entire team though.

5 No One Likes an Update

No one likes updates. And let’s face it, everyone especially hates updates when all you want to do is sit and play a game in the small amount of free time you have, only to be greeted with the notification that an update is required.

What really hurts though is when the update is particularly hefty, but there seems to be absolutely no change to the game whatsoever. It’s like you sat there updating the game for nothing and just wasted your time.

4 When Real Life Imitates Virtual Life

Sometimes you see something in real life that just reminds you of something from a game. Much like the way we say there’s a Matrix glitch whenever we see more than one person dressed in similar clothing, there’s plenty of real-world instances that remind us of our favorite media, including games.

This meme is a photo of a gravel pit where some of the gravel or sand appears to have been watered down to create a smooth effect. It’s hard not to look at it and be reminded of a game before its textures fully load. A perfect replica of those moments in games when everything around you looks smooth and lacking in detail before the textures suddenly pop into place.

3 Oh no… the Poor Scalpers…

The news recently hit that the infamous scalpers who have been raking in the dough from the purchase and re-selling of PlayStation 5 consoles are apparently hurt by how people are perceiving them. Please excuse us as we get out our tiny violins.

It’s hard to have any sympathy for people who are going out of their way to buy up all the stock of PS5 consoles for the purpose of re-selling them at extortionate prices so they can make a tidy profit. The only people who lose out here are the true fans who just want to play the latest games.

2 This One is All Too True

Some of the best memes are funny because of how true they are, and this meme is certainly one of those. When you meet random players via matchmaking and have an absolute blast with them, but then forget to add them as friends before they (or you) log out is always a regrettable moment.

Though we doubt Batman would compare forgetting to befriend someone online to the loss of his parents, one of the most emotional and enduring plotlines of the comics, regardless, this meme is hilarious to the rest of us.

1 Every Time I Play Multiplayer

This meme is funny because it’s a common complaint that gamers get particularly loud while playing, and they don’t even need to be playing online with others to get loud. Even those of us that play solo can’t help but vocally vent our frustrations or celebrate when we finally complete a difficult level.

Of course, gamers are even louder when playing online and have their teammates cheering alongside them. It’s all too easy to forget that everyone else in your house can’t hear what’s going on in your headset, and so they just hear you shouting like crazy.
